CONDUCT COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT (CCA)

1. PREPARATION (PROOF THAT YOU HAVE BEEN APPOINTED,


CHECK ASSESSMENT AREA, AND RECEIVED THE ASSESSMENT
PACKAGE)
Good day Ma’am/Sir!
I am ERIVERA, KRIZZIA L.
Today, I will present to you on how to conduct competency assessment on
AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION NC III.
I was appointed to be the accredited competency assessor on
AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION NC III, last Friday. From then, I
received a letter of appointment from the Tesda-Provincial Office, I
signed it and three-days before the assessment, I visited the
assessment center to secure the:
1. Tools, Equipment, Materials and Supplies as well as the safety
precaution tools. (The Fire extinguishers, medical kit, and PPE) fire
exit.

2. And also, ensure that the assessment center complies with the
occupational health standards.
Right now, since the assessment center is secured and ready, Ma’am
_________________, Our Tesda-representative, May I have the assessment
package that will be use during the conduct of competency assessment?
Okay, Ma’am. Thank you.
Now, I have received the assessment package, and is ready to be
checked.
The assessment package contains the Attendance Sheet,
Accomplished Application Form and Self-assessment Guide (SAG),
Specific Instructions, Rating Sheets, Assessor’s Guide and the
Competency Assessment Result Summary (CARS). Signed consent
form.

I have checked the assessment package and all the relevant documents
are complete.
So, Ma’am/Sir, I am now ready to conduct a competency assessment
demonstration.

Good morning candidates, welcome to the competency assessment on
AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION NC III!

I am ERIVERA, KRIZZIA L. (HOLD YOUR ID), the accredited assessor for the
Qualification AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION NC III.
Before anything else, let us first acknowledge the presence of our
Assessment Center Manager, ____________, GOOD DAY SIR! and our Tesda-
Representative, Ma’am _____________GOOD DAY ALSO MA’AM!
Candidates, don’t worry about their presence. They are not here to assess
you. They are just here to observe, oversee and check the conduct of
assessment methodologies and procedures. Okay?

3. GET THE ADMISSION SLIP SIGN THE ATTENDANCE


Before we start, May I ask everyone to stand for the opening prayer.
To begin, let us check first your attendance. So, As I call on your names,
kindly present to me your admission slip.
MS. ______________, may I have your admission slip please. Kindly sign
on the attendance sheet.
(Compare the candidate against his/her admission slip and
compare his signature on the attendance sheet and the admission
slip. (DON’T RETURN THE ADMISSION SLIP)
and MS. _____________, may I also have your admission slip. Kindly sign the
attendance sheet. Okay, thank you.
So, I have here now your accomplished application form and self-
assessment guide which is a proof that all of you can perform the
units of competency enumerated in this qualification. Also, a proof that
you have applied for the competency assessment.

OVERVIEW
So today, I am going to administer competency assessment on
AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION NC III where in the demonstration of
the competence is project base and must cover all the core competencies
to attain a national certificate III. These are:
-Prepare land for agricultural crop production
-Implement post-harvest program
-Implement plant nutrition program
-Control weeds

-Prepare and apply chemicals
-Establish agronomic crops
-Undertake agronomic crop maintenance activities
-Undertake agronomic crop harvesting activities
-Save, prepare and store agricultural seed
-Implement vertebrate pest control program

These are the competencies covered to be assessed during the


assessment proper.

CONTENT OF ASSESSMENT
Physical Setting
Now, this is our room, this is actually the AGRICULTURAL CROPS
PRODUCTION NC III workshop with of course conducive tools, equipment,
materials and supplies for the competency assessment and for you to
work comfortably on the activities that will be given to you later on. Also,
the assessment will last for 8 hours which means we’ll be conducting
the assessment for the whole day.

4. PURPOSE OF THE ASSESSMENT


Now, the purpose of this assessment is of course to:
1. To assess whether your underpinning knowledge and performances
is in accordance with the competency standards.
2. Also, collect evidences which will be the basis to identify your
specific level of qualification.
3. Then, to attain NC III which will be necessary on job recruitments
and
4. To identify training needs of the employees in order to design
relevant training programs.

5. QUALIFICATION (ISSUANCE OF THE NC III)


Qualification/ unit of competency to be assessed:
So today I’m going to administer the competency assessment on
AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION NC III. This Qualification level has 10
CORE units of competency to be assessed, and it is also corresponding
with the 4 COC or Certificate of Competent namely:
 Perform nursery operations
 Plant crops
 Care and maintain crops

 Carry-out harvest and post-harvest operations

6. Critical Aspect
UPON PERFORMING THE ACTIVITY, THE CANDIDATES MUST BE
ABLE TO:
1. Perform
7. ASSESSMENT METHODS
As your assessor, I have to collect some evidences from the TRAINING
REGULATION during the assessment through the following assessment
methods
1. Written Test- which is used to determine your Underpinning
knowledge on the concepts you have learned on this qualification.
The passing rate is 75% and above. The time allotted for the test
is 1 hour.
2. Demonstration/Observation- this assessment instrument will be
used to observe your demonstration on practical skills as well as
your attitudes, and underpinning knowledge. The allotted time for
demonstration is 30 mins per candidate.
3. Interview – this is used both to measure your underpinning
knowledge and underpinning skills on this qualification.

All evidences to be collected will be based on the rating sheets of your


written test, demonstration and interview.
8. TASK TO BE PERFORMED
And the task to be assessed on this qualification will be:
1. How To establish horticulture crops.
You will be going to demonstrate the proper procedure in sawing
the crop.
9. ROLE OF THE ASSESSOR
Now, my role as your accredited assessor is assign the assessment
activities to you, then to observe, record, and collect evidences base
on your performances and to validate the assessment results.

10.CONFIDENTIALITY
For the result, don’t worry because we consider the confidentiality of
every candidate, we have it is also to safeguard the integrity of

assessment procedure and package. If you pass the national assessment,
you will receive a National Certificate level three and if you only pass only
3 competencies you received a Certificate of Competent however, if you
fail, don’t worry you will be given a chance to undergo a reassessment.

Also, if you failed to pass twice for the competency assessment you are
recommended to enroll again for the training qualification. (Refresher)

11. APPEAL PROCESS/ RIGHT TO APPEAL


After the assessment, the result will be revealed to you personally, if you
have complained, don’t worry, you have the right to appeal. However, it
should be in a written form, address to the assessment center
manager and to be submitted right after the assessment. Understood?
12. DIALECTS/ LANGUAGE/ RELIGIOUS BELIEFS
For your specials needs, such as the language that we are going to use,
you can suggest a language you prefer.
And who among you here has Disabilities or impairment? or any
medication to take? If so, don’t hesitate to call my attention, so we can
accommodate you immediately. Okay?
As for your personal needs, the Comfort Room is provided in the right
side. And, if we start the assessment proper you are no longer allowed to
go outside. Okay?

- All these things that I have mention in order to ensure the presence of
humanitarian consideration.
13. GIVE THE CANDIDATE’S NO., AND SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS
Now, I will begin the assessment proper.
- So, here are your candidates ID number
- And the Specific Instructions;
So, we have specific time allotment only. (Discussed the task shortly) That
is why, we don’t allow candidates asking questions on how the task to be
perform.
Bring the specific instruction with you all the time for this serves as your
guide throughout the assessment.

DO’s
During the assessment, your safety is our upmost concern. So, wear your
PPE and always apply OHS standards. Also, observe 5s in the assessment
area.

Don’ts
And for the don’ts, cellphones are not allowed inside the assessment area.
So, kindly, shut down your phones.

Are there any questions? None? Remember that once the assessment
proper begins, no questions will be entertained. So, are there questions?
Okay none. So let us start the assessment proper.

15. ADMINISTER THE ASSESSMENT PROPER OBSERVE, RECORD,


WHILE DOING THE TASK GET THE SPECIFIC INSTRUCTION BEFORE
THE FEEDBACKING.
I have mentioned that AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION NC III will be
assessed in 3 sets and the first one is the written test.

WRITTEN TEST

 Passing score is 75% and above
 Time allotted will be 1 hr.
 Don’t forget to write your names, now timer starts now.

DEMONSTRATION
Preparing cultivation

Now let’s proceed to the work station 1 for your demonstration
- All the necessary supplies, tools, and materials are present.
- Time allotted will be 30 mins.
Your timer starts now.
(Observe, don’t disturb, Check the checklist and Keep notes,
be patient!)

Time is up! Candidate no. 1, You may GET BACK TO THE HOLDING
AREA and wait for me to call your name for the interview and for
feedbacking.

16. FEEDBACKING, STRENGTH, WEAKNESS, AREAS, FOR


IMPROVEMENT, SIGN CARS AND RATING SHEETS, NOT YET
COMPETENT OR COMPETENT.

FEEDBACK FOR CANDIDATE NUMBER 1


Candidate no. 1, please proceed to the Trainer’s Resource area.
STRENGTH
How are you? Did you find the assessment easy?
1. Base on your written test, you got 45 out of 50 items which is
actually 90%. This means you passed the written test and proves you
have attained concepts, and knowledge on this qualification.

And during your demonstration,


2. You have finished all the required activities. You followed all the
procedures. And I also noticed that you apply safety precautions.

WEAKNESS
However, during your demonstration, you struggled a little. You consumed
20 mins. Overall, this means your performance passed in accordance with
the rating sheets.

AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT


Furthermore, I only advise you to practice more. So, to sum-up
everything, based on all the evidences gathered, your performance is
found satisfactorily.
So, you may get you National Certificate III in AGRICULTURAL CROPS
PRODUCTION at the Provincial Office. After 3 working days, just present
your CARS, 2 documentary stamp, 1 passport size ID picture and a 100 for
the processing fee. So now, kindly sign on your rating sheet and CARS.
So that’s all, congratulations on your NC II!

FEEDBACK FOR CANDIDATE NUMBER 2
May I call on Candidate no. 2 to proceed to the Trainer’s Resource area?
STRENGTH
Hi there Ms. Candidate no. 2? How yah feeling? Are you well? Well then,
I’ll reveal now your result.
1. Base on the evidences gathered, your written test, you scored 25 out
of 50 items meaning, you did not pass the written test. And during
your demonstration:
2. You wear your PPE which is the most important thing. Then, I have also
noticed that you apply safety precautions.
WEAKNESS
However, you forgot to perform the second and fourth procedure.
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT
So, next time, I suggest you to study or watch videos about sowing the
crops. Overall, your ratings and performances were found not yet
competent.
In spite of the results you have achieved, I still encourage you to keep
motivated. It is actually normal for beginners to be confuse. Just be more
diligent and, practice, so that whenever you are ready, you may apply for
re-assessment. Okay?
As for now, kindly sign the rating sheet and CARS. And when you pass
during your re-assessment, you may get you National Certificate III in
AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION

So that’s all, you may get back to your seat.


17. PACKAGING
To formally end the assessment, I will now check the completeness of
accomplished documents. The rating sheets, feedbacks, the results,
competency assessment result summary (CARS) the National Certificate
(NC), Certificate of Competency (COC) the verification of signature the
dates and the qualification title.

And right now, I am preparing the assessment package; I have here the
attendance sheet, accomplished application forms and Self-assessment
Guide (SAG), Rating sheets, Assessor’s guide, Competency Assessors

script, Candidate’s guide/Specific Instructions, and the Competency
Assessment Result Summary (CARS).

18. LET THE AC MANAGER SIGN THE CARS THEN,


So, ____________, our AC manager, Ma’am/Sir? please sign the CARS. Okay,
Thank you sir.

19. SUBMIT TO THE TESDA-REP


Finally, Ma’am/Sir, ___________ the Tesda representative, I have now the
assessment package which are checked and ready to be submitted on the
Tesda-Provincial office. Thank you, Ma’am.

20. CANDIDATES BEFORE YOU LEAVE, KINDLY PERFORM THE 5S.


Dear assessors, I am already done with my conduct competency
assessment demonstration on AGRICULTURAL CROPS PRODUCTION
