TRAINING PROPOSAL ON THE CONDUCT OF

I. RATIONALE

In compliance with the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Board Regulation No. 5,
Series of 2007 under Section 77, Art. IX of RA 9165 otherwise known as the
Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Boalan Elementary School is
acquiescence to propel the program as one of the enjoined sectors of the society to
advocate and serve as models to young people to live their lives away from the
malevolent effects of drugs.
This DDB flagship named as BARKADA KONTRA DROGA (BKD) is designed as
a preventive education and information program for students to counter the threats
and devastating chattels of abusing drugs. It empowers the individual to be the
agent within his peer groups in advocating healthy and drug-free lifestyles through
involvement in various wholesome activities.
Hence, the school National Drug Education Program (NDEP) and Guidance
Office will work jointly to lead the implementation then progress it into a
“Barkadahan” concept or a collective action among the students that would brace
camaraderie, collaboration, cooperation, solidarity and connections in their mutual
commitment to attain a meaningful life.
The rising concerns about drug abuse and its devastating effects on individuals,
families, and communities necessitate proactive measures to address this critical
issue. The Barangay Council of Boalan recognizes that drug-related problems can
significantly hinder community development and jeopardize the future of our youth.
The Anti-Drug Symposium aims to provide a platform for education, awareness, and
dialogue among students, parents, and community members about the dangers of
drug use and the importance of prevention strategies. By engaging students, we
seek to empower them with knowledge that can help them resist peer pressure and
make informed decisions regarding substance use.
This symposium will feature expert speakers, interactive workshops, and
discussions that will not only inform participants about the harmful effects of drugs
but also equip them with practical tools and resources for prevention. By fostering a
supportive environment, we aim to strengthen community ties and encourage
collective responsibility in safeguarding the welfare of our youth.
Ultimately, the goal of this symposium is to create a healthier, drug-free community
where our children can thrive. Through awareness, education, and collaboration, we
can pave the way for a brighter future for the residents of Boalan.

II. OBJECTIVES
In order to reinforce people empowerment in leading a healthy lifestyle that
is drug-free and productive this activity aims to:
o Increase Awareness: To educate students about the dangers and
consequences of drug use, fostering a clear understanding of how
substances can impact their health, relationships, and future.
o Promote Healthy Choices: To empower students with knowledge and
skills that encourage making informed decisions and resisting peer
pressure related to drug use.

o Provide Resources: To offer information about available resources and


support systems within the community for those affected by drug-
related issues, including counseling and prevention programs.
o Encourage Open Dialogue: To create a safe space for students to ask
questions and discuss their concerns about drugs and peer pressure,
promoting open communication with trusted adults.
o Foster Community Involvement: To involve parents, teachers, and
community leaders in discussions about drug prevention, emphasizing
the importance of a collaborative approach to safeguarding the youth.
o Build Resilience: To equip students with coping strategies and
resilience-building techniques that help them navigate challenges and
avoid substance use.
o Inspire Advocacy: To encourage students to become advocates for
drug prevention within their school and community, fostering a culture
of support and awareness among their peers.e. Provide support
services towards the adoption of Barkada concept among families,
educators, professionals, work forces, peer groups, and other sectors.

III. TARGET AUDIENCE

The primary participants will be Grade 4-6 pupils from Boalan Elementary
School. Parents, teachers, and local community members will also be invited to
participate in select sessions.
IV. EXPECTED OUTCOME
 Increased awareness among pupils about the risks associated with
drug use.
 Enhanced decision-making skills and resilience in the face of peer
pressure.
 Greater community engagement in drug prevention efforts.
 Development of advocacy skills among students.

V. CONCLUSION
The Anti-Drug Symposium represents a crucial step toward fostering a
healthier, drug-free environment for the youth of Boalan. By investing in the
education and empowerment of our pupils, we can help build a stronger, more
resilient community. We respectfully seek the support and approval of the Barangay
Council to proceed with this initiative.
