1. INTRODUCTION

Inventive Sense production is a multimedia developer company that

creates a creative, entertaining and unique educational applications for the

society needs. It was established on January of 2016 by four fresh graduates

that have just finished their diploma namely Nurul Iwana Farhah as the project

manager, Siti Hafizah as the multimedia designer, Zulfadlee Ahmad as the

writer and Mohd Hamizan as the audio specialist. Moving on to the reason why

the team members has decided to name their company as Inventive Sense was

because of two main things. First, The members chose Inventive to show the

ability of the members to create an aesthetic creation, meanwhile they

combine it with sense to show how keen the members are to identify any

problems with rationality whenever problems occurred. Before they graduated,

they have taken CSC253 subject and thought of an alternative for other

students to learn about multimedia text. Nowadays, most students preferred

looking up for informations on the internet using their gadgets rather than a

book because it is faster and easy to access. Thus, they decided to create an

application to learn about text in a simple, easy and enjoyable way which is

also as new way of learning for the Y generations students.

2. OBJECTIVES OF PROJECT

Inventive Sense team has decided to develop a multimedia text

application that is easy, simple and fun to learn. We want to avoid creating a

complicated text application that could ruin the students' interest in learning

about text. To begin with, we start by asking the students whether they think

that text is important in multimedia. Most of them stated that text is not

important to learn in multimedia when the truth it is an extremely important

element in multimedia. Our team also has made another survey on what kind

of learning application that the students are interested with. The result was, 3

out of 4 students said that they want a learning application that is easy to

understand yet enjoyable. Thus, we decided that we needed to make an

application of multimedia text that is not complicated and yet enjoyable to

learn.

KEY CHALLENGES

Student's interest are different. Thus, it is hard to predict and fulfill what they

want in order to make them interested to learn about multimedia text.

Text is not a common things to learn. Most of the times, students ignore any

educational segment about text.

Student's perception towards text as an boring and not important.

TARGET AUDIENCES

The scope of age for our application is for the adults that ages between

18 to 39

years old. The reason why we are focusing on the adults is because the

application is generally for the adults to improve their ability in using the text.

Moreover, people around this age usually interested in simple and minimalistic

design which makes it more fair and suitable for people around this age.

3. LITERATURE'S REVIEW

To summarize our multimedia project, we did the basic stages steps by

steps that starts with planning and costing, then designing and producing, and

then testing and delivery. While in the making of the multimedia text

application, we have found out that there are few textbooks about multimedia

text that has been published globally such as Multimedia: Making It Work by

Tay Vaughan that are used by students that studies multimedia subject around

the world. One of the topic in the textbook is text where it explains and

provide a detailed information about text. There are also exercises that the

students can do to test their knowledge about each topics. Meanwhile, our text

application provide a brief and understandable notes for the students. Our

team also make sure that we put a few animation and interesting graphic

design that is suitable and enjoyable for the students. Not to forget, our team

has included exercises in the application after the students has learn every

small topics which purposely to help the student to memorize and adapt to

multimedia text questions. Textbooks are usually heavy to bring and some

people have a hard time reading a book. However, with the existance of our

application the students and teachers has the alternative to learn and access

the multimedia text application anytime and anywhere. To avoid the application

from being boring, we make it look like an educational game that is

informative and fun where it contains exercises, puzzles and quizzes. Besides,

the application contains menu, extras, credits and start buttons that are

clickable. Moreover, Text, graphic, sound, animation and video are managed

very well by the members of our team. Thus, we were very happy with the

results of our final product.

4. METHODOLOGY

Planning and costing

For planning and costing, we planned for what to do and manage our project

with the given informations provided by the clients within our capability of

skills, times and budgets. This time around, the clients asked for a educational

text applications that is suitable for university and college students.

Designing and producing

For designing and producing, we design our product based on what kind of

design that the customers want and make sure it is suitable to our targeted

audiences. In our case, our audiences are the adults that ages between 18 until

39 years old. Thus, our design are simple and minimalistic since they preferred

the design.

Testing

Before distributing our final product, we will pretest it by asking few students to

try the application. On week 10, we will ask students to try the alpha testing of

the product, then beta testing which will be on week 11. Besides, our team

make sure to write it in the report to see how far we develop and improved.

Our team will also get as many of the feedbacks from the students on what can

be improved so that we could improve the weaknesses from the application.

Delivery

If the final product has been tested and there is no more technical problems

occurred. Then, our team will deliver the products by a CD-ROM to the

customers and our product packages are all in a good condition.
