CHAPTER I

The Problem and it’s Setting

Introduction

A payroll system is a software application businesses


used to manage and automate the process of paying employees.
It calculates employee paychecks, salaries and taxes, tracks
hours worked, and issues payments through direct deposit or
check.

Most companies will need to set up a payroll system at


some point- even if you only have one employee. And while it
may not be the most glamorous part of running a business, it’s
still essential.

Staying on top of your business payroll allows everyone


on your team to get paid the correct amount on time. However,
the payroll process can be repetitive, mundane, and time-
consuming. The payroll process can also get complicated for
companies with many employees. Let’s explore what a payroll
system is, how payroll works, and how your business can
benefit from a payroll process. (M. Mondry, 2021)

Statement of the problem

The study aimed to determine the Payrolll system in


Hipolito’s Personals

1. How may the profile of the respondents be described in


terms of:

1.1 name

1.2 address

1.3 position
1.4 income per hour

2. How may the perception on Payroll System for Hipolito’s


Personnels be described in terms of:

2.1 Payroll System

2.2 Payroll Processing

2.3 Security Management

Scope and Delimitation

The respondents of the study were limited only for the


Hipolito’s Personnels. The profile of the respondents is
limited to a certain extent such as: name, address, position,
and income per hour. The study is delimited only to determine
the: Payroll System, Payroll Processing, and Security
Management.

Limitations of the study

This study aims to determine what is the effective


payroll system for Hipolito’s personnels. This study are
limited to the respondents, meaning that this study will only
focus for Hipolito’s personnels.

Significant of the study

This study will be undertaken to find out the perceptions


on payroll system for Hipolito’s personnels. Benefiting the
study will be the following:

Working students – It will be benifiting for working students


because this study will help them to know if the payroll
system is effective and won’t get on the way of their studies.
Employees – This to will help them to know better what payroll
system really is, it will help them to know if the current
payroll system they have is actually effective.

Business/company owners – It will help them to know if the


current payroll system they use for their employees is
actually effective.

Definitions of terms

Payroll:

Payroll is the compensation a business must pay to its


employees for a set period and on a given date.

Payroll is the process of paying employees, and it can also


refer to the list of employees or the total amount paid to
them

Income:

Income is money or value that an individual or business entity


receives in exchange for providing a good or service or
through investing capital. (law.cornell.edu)

Income is the money or other benefits that an individual or


business receives in exchange for their labor, services, or
products.

Personnels:

Personnel means persons hired by the Consultant or by any


Subconsultant as employees and assigned to the performance of
the Services or any part thereof. (lawinsider.com)
Personnel refers to a group of people who are employed by a
company, organization, or the armed forces.
