SCRIPT RAWA PENING X-6

SCENE 1
Place: Their house
(Ki Hajar, Nyi Selakanta)

One day, when Nyai Selakanta was sitting alone in front of her house, Ki Hajar came over and
sat beside her.

Ki Hajar : "Nyai, why do you look so sad? What's the matter, Nyai?" asked Ki Hajar.

Nyi selakanta : “I don't think about anything, Kang. I just feel lonely. I feel lonely when Kakang is not at
home. Ah, if in this house you could always hear the sound of a baby crying and whimpering, our
lives would not be so lonely like this.”

Nyi Selakanta: “To be honest, Kang, I really want to have children. I want to care for and raise him with
great affection.”

Ki Hajar : “Never mind, Nyai. Maybe it's not time for God to give us children. The important thing is
we have to try and keep praying to Him.”

Nyi Selakanta : "Yes, Kang," said Nyai Selakanta while shedding tears.

Ki Hajar could not hold back his tears seeing the sadness of his beloved wife.

Ki Hajar : "Okay, Nyai. If you really want children, allow me to go ascetic to beg the Almighty."

The next day, Ki Hajar departed for the slopes of Mount Telomoyo. Nyai Selakanta was alone
again at home with an increasingly lonely heart. Days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months.
Nyai Selakanta had been waiting for months, but her husband had not returned from his hermitage.
Nyai Selakanta's heart began to be filled with anxiety, perhaps something had happened to her
husband. Until one day it turns out that she is pregnant and finally gives birth to a child who looks like
a dragon, Nyai Selakanta was amazed and at the same time felt touched and a little disappointed.
Then the child was given the name Baru Klinthing which was taken from the name of the spear that
belonged to her husband. The word 'Baru' came from the word ‘bra’ which means descendant of
Brahmins, namely a rishi whose position was higher than a priest. While the word 'Klinthing' means
bells. Even though he was in the form of a dragon, Baru Klinthing could speak like a human. Feeling
ashamed that she had given birth to a dragon, Nyai Selakanta took care of Baru Klinthing secretly. He
also plans to take Baru Klinthing to Bukit Tugur so that he is far away from the residents.

SCENE 2
Place: Their House
(Baru Klinthing Dragon ver, Nyi Selakanta)

And time kept on running until Baru Klinthing finally grew into a juvenile dragon. Once, the
juvenile snake asked his mother.

Baru Klinthing: "Mother, do I have a father?"

Nyi Selakanta : “Yes, my son. You do have a father named Ki Hajar. Your father is currently meditating
on the slopes of Mount Telomoyo. Go meet him, and tell him that you are his son."

Baru Klinthing : "But, ma'am. With my body like this, would father trust me?”

Nyi selakanta : "Don't worry my son, bring this Baru Klinthing spear heirloom as proof, this is your
father's heirloom"

After that, he then went to the slopes of Mount Telomoyo to meet his father.

SCENE 3
(Baru Klinthing Dragon ver, Ki Hajar)

Arriving on the slopes of Mount Telomoyo, he entered a cave, and found a man sitting in
meditation. The arrival of Baru Klinting seemed to have disturbed the hermit's peace.

Ki Hajar : "Hey, who's there?"

Baru Klinthing: "Forgive me, Uncle, if my arrival has disturbed Uncle's

peace"

Ki Hajar : "Who are you, a dragon but can speak like a human?"
Baru Klinthing: "I am Baru Klinthing, so if I may ask, is it true that this is the place of Ki Hajar's
hermitage?"

Ki Hajar : "That's right, I am Ki Hajar. But, how did you know my name? Who are you?"

Hearing the hermit's answer, Baru Klinthing immediately bowed down before his father. He then
explained who he was. Ki Hajar patiently listened and he doubted that he had a dragon child. So
he said

Ki Hajar : “Okay, I believe that the Baru Klinthing heirloom is indeed mine. But, that evidence is not
enough. If you are really my son, try to circle this Telomoyo Mountain!”

With his supernatural powers, Baru Klinting was able to encircle Mount Telomoyo.

Ki Hajar: "After seeing all your abilities, I believe that you are my son. And now, You have to meditate on
the hillside so that your body turns into a human!"

Baru Klinthing: "Okay, Father, I understand. I feel like I have to be fully human. Because if I’m a dragon, I
will be bullied forever.

SCENE 4
Place: Tugur Hill
(Baru Klinthing Dragon ver, Adam, Alfito, Jodi, Amr)

Meanwhile, there was a village called Pathok which was very prosperous. However, the villagers were
known to be very haughty. Once upon a time, the residents of Pathok Village intended to hold an
earth alms party after the harvest time. They also hunted animals on Tugur Hill.

Alfito (looking for something): “Not on your right?”

Jodi (looking to the right): “Nothing.”

Adam: “Usually, there are lots of animals around here. But why aren't there today?"

Amr (screaming): 'Hey everyone, let's see! I found something.”

Jodi: “A…. Dragon?"

Adam: "Wow, it looks delicious to serve as a dish for this harvest party. What if we get caught?”

Amr: “Good idea.”

SCENE 5
Place: The Party
(Baru Klinthing Children ver, Laras, Kayla, Kyamel, Wiki, Nabila, Setyo, Eksi, Rizal)

When the villagers were having a party, a half-dragon boy came who was full of wounds on his body
and had a fishy smell. This boy is the incarnation of Baru Klinthing.

Baru Klinthing (pointing at food, approaching Nabila, Laras): “Excuse me, can I have this food? I’m very
hungry."

Laras (smells): "Huh, what smell is this?"

Kyamel: “Look at him!”

Wiki: “Huh? Who is he?”

Kayla: “I don’t know, I don’t think he’s from this village.”

Nabila (angry, teasing): “Who are you? How dare you join this party. Where are you from? You smell like
a trash."

Baru Klinthing: “B-but, I just want to…”

Setyo (jokingly): “Hey everyone, take a look. There is a boy who stink like a trash. Come and ask for food
too!"

Eksi (jokingly): “Stinky! HAHAHAHA.”

Rizal (jokingly): “And… Ugly! HAHAHA.”

--Everyone laughs--

Amalia (shuffling): "You don't deserve to be here, Go Away!”

SCENE 6
Place: Forest
(Baru Klinthing Children ver, The Girl)

Baru Klinthing went to the forest. Then he met a girl.

The Girl: “Hey, Are you okay? Looks like you need some help."

Baru Klinthing: “I’m Fine."

The Girl: “Here I treat you, it looks like your wound is quite severe. What happened to make you become
like this?”

Baru Klinthing (sad): “Actually, this is not my true form. I am a dragon. This made me bullied and made
fun of since childhood. And also my own mother didn't love me because I wasn't a normal human being.
My mind is messed up. I hate myself. I hate why did I have to be born like this? Why me? I want to be
fully human. I want to be loved by my mother. I want to experience just once being praised by
someone.”

The Girl: “Hey, You must learn how to love yourself. You have to accept your situation. You're not ugly.
You are great. Try to start loving yourself from now on.”

Baru Klinthing: “Thank you. From this moment on I will try to love myself even though it seems
impossible.”

The Girl: "It's not impossible, you can do it."

For days, Baru Klinting tried to love himself with the help of the girl's encouragement. Finally his wish
came true, he turned into a human.

Headman: (Approaching Baru Klinthing & The Girl) “Welcome to Pathok Village, it seems this
is the first time I've met you.”
The girl: “He is Baru Klinthing, Sir. He comes from Ngasem Village.”
Headman: “Wah, Ngasem Village is a prosperous village. Of course I am very happy when the
residents of Ngasem Village visit here. However, what is your purpose in coming here?”
Baru Klinthing: (Smiling) “If it pleases, I want to live in this village. Is this village willing to
accept me?”
Amr: (Laughing) “Hahaha, of course! we are very happy and very welcome to new residents. I
know a place where you can live. Come follow me!”
(Baru Klinthing, The Girl, Amalia, Kayla, Amr, Headman leave)

SCENE 8
Place: Pathok Village
(Baru Klinthing, Headman, Adam, Zulfan, Eksi, Nabila, Laras, Setyo)

(The villagers gave a variety of food and drinks)

(Baru Klinthing is greeted kindly by the residents)
Since that day, Baru Klinthing has been treated kindly by the villagers. He was served with
delicious food and drink. In fact, he can live in a very comfortable house that he has never
had before. But something stuck in his heart. He felt that everything he received was just a
lie.
Baru Klinthing: (expression of disappointment) “This is not true. All the people who used to
insult me are now doing good to me. All their deeds are not sincere. They are all haughty and
arrogant just because they feel that they are slightly better than others.”
(Adam, Zulfan, Eksi, Nabila, Laras, Setyo come)
Adam: “Hey Baru Klinthing, do you want to go fishing in the north river?”
Baru Klinthing: “I have something to say. This is very important.”
(Other residents come, crowded)
Baru Klinthing: (shouting) "I want to say something important!"
Zulfan: “what’s wrong?”
Nabila: “Yeah, right. What’s going on?”
Baru Klinthing: (Inhales) "Actually I'm a fishy-smelling kid who used to come to this village
when you guys were having a party. I didn't expect that your treatment would be this different
just because my appearance changed."
Laras: “What??!! That beast is him?”
Setyo: “Pfft, how can we be deceived like this.”
Eksi: “It's messed up. I'm tricked.”
Baru Klinthing: (Mad) “Look, this is what I don't like about you. You guys are so arrogant”
Headman: "How dare a newcomer who just stays here mock our village. If you really don't like
it, get out of here!"
(Baru Klinthing left angrily, disappointed)

SCENE 9
Place: Pathok Village
(Villager, Nyi Latung)

Surprisingly, since that day rumors spread that Baru Klinthing has powers that can
provide wealth. Rumors spread from one word of mouth to another until finally the
rumors reached the ears of Nyi Latung, a greedy grandmother who is the grandmother of
the girl.
(Relay residents whispering from one to the other)
Nyi Latung: (Sly smile).

The Girl: “Welcome home, Grandma”
Nyi Latung: (Approaching the girl) “You have a good relationship with Baru Klinthing. right?”
The Girl: "What's the matter, Grandma?"
Nyi Latung: “Baru Klinting, if we find him we will get wealth!! Tell me where Baru Klinthing
is!!”
The Girl: “Those are all just fake rumours, Grandma!! And even so, I will never tell you where
Baru Klinthing is.”
Nyi Latung: (Angry) "How dare you oppose your grandma!"
The girl: (Firmly) "I will never let Baru Klinthing be taken advantage of by anyone including
you, Grandma."
Nyi Latung: (Slap the girl)
Gadis: (Falling)
Nyi Latung: “How dare you-” (hits girl many times)
(Villagers peek at the incident)
From that day on, the girl continues to be abused by her grandmother until she opens her
mouth about the existence of the New Klinthing. The villagers who saw the incident
pretended not to know and did nothing to save the girl.
SCENE 11
Place: Tugur Hill
(Headman, Baru Klinthing, Rizal, Wiki, Alfito, Jodi, Amr)

The dry season has arrived. Pathok Village, which is usually overflowing with luck, food
and drink, suddenly turned into a drought village. The water supply ran out, they couldn't
even find food. Until finally they decided to hunt in an area they had never explored before,
namely Tugur Hill.
Headman: (Brings a spear, raises hand) “Let's go hunting in this forest. I'm pretty sure we'll get
food.” (Villagers walked a little, then met Baru Klinting)
Wiki: “Isn't that Baru Klinthing? (pointing to Baru Klinthing)
Alfito: "Right."
Rizal: “According to rumors, he has magical powers. He- he can help us!!” (The villagers ran to
Baru Klinting)
Baru Klinthing: “Pathok villagers. What's the matter you came here?! How dare you guys step
on my territory."
Wiki: “Baru Klinthing!! Please help us. Our village is hit with drought. Hunger occurs
everywhere. With your great power, help our village not to have another drought." (drops on
knees, pleads)
Baru Klinthing: “After you kicked me out, now you're asking for my help? I don't want to help
you."
(Villagers complain annoyed)
Rizal: “(Glance right and left) "Hey Baru Klinthing, do you remember the girl you used to
always be with?"
Baru Klinthing: "Why... with that girl?"
Rizal: “You don't know right. Because she didn't want to open her mouth about your
whereabouts, she was tortured by her own grandmother, Nyi Latung."
Alfito: “Perhaps she is still being tortured to this day.”
Baru Klinthing: (widen his eyes) “What did you just say?” (In a pressing tone)
Amr: (Sly smile) That girl, what a misfortune. After making friends with a beast, now she is
tortured by her grandmother."
Baru Klinthing: (Angry) "No, no, it's all my fault. I must save her!!"
Amr: (Whispering to the village chief) "Sir, it's a good time to negotiate with him."
Village chief: (Listen, then turn to Baru Klinthing) "Ahem, let's make an agreement. If you are
willing to help our drought-stricken village, then we will help to save the girl and teach her
grandmother a lesson. How?"
Baru Klinthing: (Thinking for a moment) "Well. But you have to promise to keep it. If you
disobey, then I will burn the whole village and its contents to the ground without a single
remaining."
Headman: (gulping) "What should we do?"
Baru Klinthing: (Giving sticks) "Plug this stick into the middle of the village, and then spread
rumors to Nyi Latung that whoever can pull out this stick in the early hours of the morning will
become rich. But remember, after this stick is plugged in, no villagers should pull out this stick.
If not, then a disaster will come."
Headman: (Received stick) "What will happen if this stick is successfully pulled out?"
Baru Klinthing: "You don't need to know that. One more thing, when the rumors have reached
Nyi Latung’s ears, at night, go up this hill with all the villagers and take my girl with you."
The villagers received all directions from Baru Klinthing and went down to the village.

SCENE 12
Place: Village
(Villager, headman, Kyamel, Nyi Latung)

(The residents who came down from the hill went to the middle of the village)
Headman: (Sticking sticks) "Well, now spread the rumors, but tell all the villagers to pretend that
they can't pull it out."
The villagers obeyed the village chief's orders. Rumors spread by word of mouth. Whoever
can pull out the stick in the early hours of the morning will get wealth.
Kyamel: (Speaking to Nyi Latung) "Do you know about the latest rumors?"
Nyi Latung: "New rumors? About Baru Klinthing?"
Kyamel: "No. About the sticks that were suddenly stuck in the middle of the city. It is said that
whoever can pull out the stick in the early hours of the morning, then he will get abundant
wealth. But no one has succeeded in pulling out the stick."
Nyi Latung: (Smile) "Really? Then I have to pull it out early in the morning."
Kyamel: (Underestimates) "Even the strongest youths in the village can't pull out the stick,
especially you who... (stares from top to bottom) Just give up."
Nyi Latung: "What did you say?! I'll prove it if I can pull out the stick. Just look at it." (Leaving
Kyamel)
Kyamel: (After leaving, look to check Nyi Latung) "I have to tell the village chief immediately."
(Kyamel who told Nyi Latung about the rumors finally went to see the village chief).

SCENE 13
Place: Headman’s house
(Kyamel, headman)

Kyamel: "Sir, just now I told Nyi Latung about the stick. I'm sure that early in the morning, Nyi
Latung will pull out the stick."
Village head: "Okay. At midnight, we will take the girl and all the villagers to Bukit Tugur.
Immediately announce it to the villagers.”
Kyamel: “Okay!”
He gave directions to all villagers to get ready to climb Tugur Hill. In the middle of the
night, one of the villagers sneaked and freed the girl from Nyi Latung's house. Secretly, all
the villagers and the girl climbed Tugur Hill and left Nyi Latung alone in the village.

SCENE 14
Place: Middle of the village, early morning
(Nyi Latung)

Nyi Latung: (Leaving the house, looking left and right, walking towards the stick) "Ah, so this
stick that brings wealth that it is said that no one can pull it out."
(Removes the stick and it works)
Nyi Latung: “Huh? It's so easy for me to pull out this stick. Hahahahah you weaklings!”
(satisfied laugh)
As soon as the stick was pulled out, a roar shook the entire village. Water was gushing out
from the former plug stick. The longer the burst of water gets bigger so that there is a big
flood. Nyi Latung drowned along with Pathok Village. The village turned into a swamp or
lake which is now known as Rawa Pening.
