Prasal verbs I´d = I would = infinitivo

I´d = I had = p.p (3 column)


1. brush up on = poner al día
2. bank on = esperar (sentada en el banco)
3. mull over = meditar sobre
4. buckle down = apretarse el cinturon
5. bump into = encontrarse con algo x casualidad
5. To stumble upon = encontrarse con alguien x casualidad
6. to nail down = concretar, All the parties seem anxious to nail down a ceasefire.
7. to single out = escoger algo o alguien de un grupo (para una atención especial)
8. to Ache for = anhelar, desear fuertemente
9. to slip up = cometer un error, equivocarse
10. figure out = entenderlo (We couldn't figure her out, I can´t figure out How…)
11. to pan out = resultar en algo
12. to run up against = correr en contra (dificultades)
13. to while away = pasar tiempo (placentero, de relax)
14. Bother me = me molesta
15. Take after = de tal padre tal hijo

HAVE/GET + SOMETHING + 3era COLUMNA

Ejemplos:

I iron my shirts every week. (Lo hago yo, presente simple)


I have my shirts ironed every week (pagué por ello, lo mandé a hacer)

I had my internet paid last month

I repaired my window. (Lo hice yo)


I had / got my window repaired (mandé a reparar)

I get my nails done every week .

I had my groceries delivered ----Ojo aquí con la formula: had + algo + 3 column
I had delivered my groceries---🡪 past perfect = había traído mis compras de comida

1 y 2) have y get cuando pregunto o convenzo/persuado a ALGUIEN

1. HAVE + SOMEONE + PRESENTE (preguntar sin problemas)


2. GET + SOMEONE + TO + INFINITIVO (persuadir, lleva más esfuerzo o es mas difícil)

Ejemplos:

A: my car has been making this weired noise lately.


B: really ?? my brother is a mechanic . I will have him take a look (I will ask him take a look)

I can not get my 6-month-old son to sleep.

I have my students put their homework on my desk before the lesson starts
