Yes Ma’am

700,000 po ma’am.
What is the value of the digit 7?
300 po ma’am.
What about 3?

Very good.

IV. Application

This morning, we are going to define what is

Place Value in standard form, expanded
form, and a word forms.
Place value it is a system in which the
position of the digit in a number determines
it’s value.

Place value chart

M Ht Tth Th H T O
h
1 2 3 4 5 6 7

Value is the numerical word of digit

Example:
In chart we have 3 in ten thousand so, the
value of 3 is 30,000.

Next is DIGIT it is a single numerical symbol

from 0-9 only.
Example: 0123456789

In 1, 234,567
M Ht Tth Th H T O
h
1 2 3 4 5 6 7

F. Millions: The digit in the millions place

value is 1. This means 1,000,000
G. Hundred thousand: The digit in hundred
thousand place is 2. This means
200,000
H. Ten thousand: The digit in the ten
thousand place is 3. This means 30, 000
I. Thousands: The digit in the thousands
place is 4. This means 4, 000.
J. Hundreds: The digit in the hundreds
place is 5. This means 500.
K. Tens: The digit in the tens place is 6.
This means 60. 1, 200, 000 po ma’am.
L. Ones: The digit in the ones place is 7.
This means 7.

So, for standard form to expanded form: The 7 is the ten thousand
1, place, so it’s value is
234,567=1,000,000+200,000+30,000+4,00 70,000
0+500+60+7
9 is the hundreds place,
In word forms: so it’s value is 900.
One million, two hundred thirty-four
thousand, five hundred sixty-seven.

For example,
Look at the picture, we have 1 large block
for 1 million and 2 smaller blocks for
hundred thousand.

The total of?

Very good.

What is the value of 7 in 5, 678,910 For group 1 answer.

Thousands - 4
What about 9? Hundreds – 6
Tens – 9
Very good Ones- 4
V. Generalization
For group 1 answer.

to paste the digit into place value where Hundreds – 6
they belong. Tens – 2
Ones- 0
(numbers)
For group 1 is 4694
For group 2is 5620

Thousan Hundreds Tens Ones
