1 NAME

1.1 The name of the Church is in the Engtish language:

2.1 The HEAD oF THE cHURcH rs JESUS cHRlsr, the etemal saviour of
souls, the author and finlsher of our faith.

2.2 THE cHURcH, estab[shed by JEstfs cHRtsr according to the Hoty


scriptures, revived in Europe ln the igth century and was established in
South Afrlca in 1894 and thereafter in other couhfies.

2.3 ln every country where the church ls establlshed, lt shall func{ion in


accordance with the_provlsions of thls c_onstitution; and the objects, funds
pn{ propertv of the chuch in any speclflc country ihalt, subjea to --

legislation of such country, be applied primarlly w:itt in that c6untry for

3 OBJECTS

4 MEMBERSHIP

4.1 Any person withorJt regard to natlonality, rae or colour, may becorne a
member of rHE cHURcH. Membership is the privilege of thosewho have
been taken uplbaptised and who have been sealed by the Apostle.

4.2 Thelame of every member shall be enrolled upon the membership reglster of
the Provlnce, Disfrlct or Reglon as the case may be, which has govCmance
over him/her.

4.3 Membership does not entailthe payment of a fee or subscriptlon. ln the event
of any member losing hls or her right of membership, whether by resignation,
expulsion orotherwise, he orshe shall have no claim of any kind whatsoever
against THE CHURGH or any of its members or officers whether in respect of
(r its property or in respeci of monles contributed by him or her during the period
of his or her membershlp, or any other claim whatsoever.

4.4 The privilege of contnued membership of THE CHURCFI shallbe dependant


upon complete subordinallon to lhe ofiicers appointed and ordained by the
Apostle, and total acceptance of all the formularies, rcgulations, rules and
decisions decreed or amended by the Conference of Apostles or Apostolate.

5 OFFICERS

5.1 The following ofiicers shall be recognised by THE CHURGFI:

5.1.1 Anointed offlcers - Apostle, PropheUEvangelisUOvelseer (collectively known


as Fourfold Officers), Elderand Priest.

5.1.2 Unanointed ofiicers - Underdeacon.

5.2 Apostles serye at the pleasure of the Apostolate and all other officers serve at
the pleasure of the Apostle for an indefinite period.

5.3 A certificate of appointment slgned by the Aposfle shall be issued to every


anointed officer. This certificate shall remain the property of THE cHURcH
and shall be sunendered to THE CHURCH upon demand by the Aposte or
an officer duly ordained and authorised to do so by the Aposfle.

5.4 Every officer shall have the power to administern act and perform all duties
confered upon him by the Aposfle, in conformlty with the policles, formularies,
regulations, officers code of conduct, precepts, rules and directives approved

5.5 Subject to all civillaws and regulations in force, maniage officers shall be
nomlnated forthe solemnlsadon of marriages. Only seMng anolnted officers
shall be nominated to perfom these dutles.

5.6 The appointment and ordainment of an officer in THE CHURCH shall not in
itself create or brlng lnto belng a confiac{ of service or employnrent between
such officer and THE CHURCH.

6 GONGREGATIONS &
CONGREGATIONAL M.ANAG EiJI ENT

6.1 Mernbers of THE CHURCH serve in congregations established with the


(t approval of the Apostle wih due rqard to the location, composition, language
and culture of the local populace, the slze and needs of the localfollowing and
the prevailing lalvs of the country in which the congregation is sltuated.

6.2 Members in mngregations serve ln Priestrships under the care of Priests


assisted by Underdoacons.

6.3 Priestships are grouped into Elderships and function under the care of an
Elder"

6.4 Elderships are grouped into Overseerships and function under the care of
Fourfold Oflioers.

7 REGIONS

7.1 A region may be established in an independent country in accordance with


the provisions of clauses 10.2.3 and 10.2.3.2, and such reglon shallfunction
in the same manner as Provinces and Distric{s as provided for ln clauses
13.6, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19 and 20"

7.2 A reglon need not be confined to one country or form a geographical unit, but
its component parts rnust be clearly defined geographical areas.

7.3 A region shall be known as "The Old Apostolic Church, (name of regionf as
contemplated in clause 1.1.

8 APOSTLESHIPS

8"1 An Apostleshlp is established within a Province per resolution of the


Apostolate of that Province ln terms of clause 12.7 .1 , and shall mnsi,st of such
congregations and regions as determined bythe Apostles of the Disfict or
Province as the case may be.

8.2 An Apostleshlp need not be a geographical unlt.

9.1 Two or more Aposdeships of a Province may be structured as a Dlstric,t in
accordance with a resolution of the Apostolate of that Province in terms of
clause 12.7.1,

9.2 A District as defined and mmpiled bythe Apostolate as refened to in clause


9.1, need not fiorm ageographlcal unit but its component parts must be clearly
deflned geographical areas.

10 PROVTNCES

10.1 THE CHURCH is established ln independent countries in accordance with a


decision of the conference of Apostles in terms of ctause 11 .6.2.

10.2 With due regard to the membership, activities and interests of THE CHURCH
in independent countries, such countries shall be struc-tured lnto provinces of
THE CHURCH ln accordancewlth a decision of the Conference of Aposfles in
terms of clause I 1.6.3, on the followlng basis:

10.2.1 where two or more Apostleships have been established in a oountry, such
country shall be declared a Province comprising:

10"2.1"1 Districts as provided for in clause 9; or

10.2.1.2 Apostleships functioning as a Province"

10"2.2 where and/or when only one Aposileship has been established in an
independent country, that country may, in the discretion of the Conference of

11.6.5 To issue and amend s.uch regulations as it deems necessary to regulate and
discipline its own meetings and actions, to formulate the responsibilitles of its
officials and members and to ensure that lts decisions are pioperly executed
andlor lmplemented.

of Apostles shall be made by maforig vote:

11.7.1 The chairman shall have no castng vote and ln the event of an equality of
votes, the matter under consldenation shall be postponed unul a rebtution Uy

11.7.2 Notwithsta$ing anyfiing to the contrary in the constih.rtion or any regulations

11.7.2.1 The approval, revocation or amendment of the constitution.

11.7.2.2 The issue, amendment or repealof regulafions, rules and formularies.

11.7.2.3 The establishment, structuring, restrucfuring or disestabtishment of provinces"

11.7.2.4 Any resolution which may have ffnanclal implications foror any effect on
the
finances of a Province or a Distrlc{ a1d/or a'Reglon in a provlric", prouli"o
that the provisions of this clause shall not restriEt or prevent the
cohvention or
attendance of any meeting of the conference of Aposfles.

11.8 The conference of Aposfles shall in particular dedicate itsetf to:

11.8.1 Establishing and maintaining the unity of the falth and promoting the
interests
of the brotherhood of the fai[tr"

11.8"2 Developing the abilities and expertise of the ofiicers of rHE cHURcH.

12.8.1 The Chairman shall not have a casting vote and in the event of an equality of
votes, the matter under consideration shall be postponed until a resoiution by
majority vote is achieved.

12.8.2 Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the constltutlon or any regulations


(i issued by the Apostolate or conference of Apos{es, no resolutioir snau ue

is passed by unanimous vote:

12.8.2.1 The establishment or disestablishment of Districts and/or Apostleships.

12.8.2.2 The appointment, recall, transfer, pension, restriction of power, inactive


classification with retention of offce, and/or removal from office of an Apostle.

12.8.2.3 The appointmentof an Apostle as Apostle: Head office Administration, the


restriction of powers confened or imposed upon hlm in terms of the
constitution and regulatlons issued by the Apostolate, and hls removalfrorn
such ofiice.

12.8.2.4 Any resolution which may have financlal implications for a District or
Apostleship or Region in an Apostleship, or may have an effecton he
finances of a District or Region, provided that the provlslons of this clause
shall not restrict or prevent the convention or atendance of any meeting of the
Apostolate.

12.8.2.5 The issue, amendment or repeal of regulations and rules.

12.9 The Apostolate shal! assemble as often as is necessary to attend to the


matters of THE cHURcH, but shall assemble at least dnce in every twelve
months.

12.10 The Apostolate shall determlne its methods and frequency of communicagon
for proper management of the affairs of THE CHURCH a6cording to prevailing
circurnstances and shallincorporata its decisions in this regard iito rbutines
and prograrnmes as it deems necessary. Decisions made during informal
gatherings or contracts, shall be formally resolved at a meeting oithe
Apostolate.

12.11 The decisions of the-Aposblate shall be reoorded and dlssemlnated

13 APosT'LEs:FUNcTroNrNc & PowERs

13.1 An Apostle is appointed and ordaine.ll through Christ by the Apostolate
of a
Province as the leaderof rHE cHURcH in a designat6o apoitleship.

13.2 Every Apostle is subject to the authority of the Conference of Aposfles and the
Apostolate of the Province whlch has lurisoiction over him and ineaeiis[nr,
ordinances, rules and regulations detCrmined by the Confer"n6of-Aporif"t
and the Apostolate are blndlng on hlm. withln ihe bounds of therreeiom

15 FUNDS

15.1 The funds of rHE cHURcH shall be collected by means of tithes and
contributions voluntarily made and no monetary charge shallbe made tor any
blessing or servicg such as baptism, Holy communion, wedding, budal and
the like.

'15.2 Each Province, Dlstrict aryl Region, as well as each independent oountry
included in a Province or Distict or Reglon ln terms of cliuse 10.2.9.1, 6hall

15.3 The Apostolate of each Provlnce shall approve and enforce regutatlons and

15.4 CENTRAL FUNDS: D|STRICTS, PROV|NCES & REGTONS

15.4.1 subject to the provisions of clause ls. .zthe D.F.c. shall establish and
control a central fund for the Distrlct which shall be used for deftagng
expenses involved ln thework of the D"F.c. and the work ln geneiat6tTl.te
CHURCH in the District. The fund shall consist of the ti$res iecelved by the
District Secretary (or District AccountanUTreasurer where applicable) from the
congregations within the district as well as any othersourcesof incoine
approved by the Apostolate.

15.4.2 Where the jurisdiction of a District is spread over two or more lndependent
countries, a separate central fund as contemplated in clause 15.4"1shall be
established in respect of every independent iountry.

15.4.3 The D.F.c. shall open and operate, in respect of the Gentral Fund for each

15.5 CONGREGATIONAL FUNDS

15.5.1 The temporal matters of every congregation shall be conduc'ted and contsolled
by a Ghairman, and wherever possible a Vice-Chairman, a Treasurer, a
S-ecretary and at least two (2) intemal Audltos who shall be appointed ftom
the members of the congregailon bythe responslble Aposfle or bya person or
persons dalegated by such Aposfle to make such appolntments.

15.5.2 Every Apostolate shall approve and enforce regulations setting outthe duties
and responslbilities of the officials refened to in clause 15.5.1 and the Apostle:
Head Office Administration shall issue such additlonal lnstuctions and
institute such measures as are dicbted by local circumstances to ensure that
these regulations are complied with.

15.5.3 A meeting open to allmembers of a @ngregatlon shall be held once every


(i month for the purpose of dlscussing the temporal affalrs of the congregation
and proper minutes of such meetings shall be kept by the Secretrary of the
congregation.

15.6 AUDITORS

All accounts shall be audiled by lntemal Auditors appointed by the Apostle:


Head Office Adrninistnation.

15.7 PECUNIARYINTEREST

15.7.1 No officer, member or employee of the Church shall receive any pecuniary
profit or gain from the Church, or any commission, grant, rebate or other kind
of personal benefit from any bank, insurer, contractor, supplier or any other
institution relating to the business of the Church, save fon

'15.7.1.1 the remuneration, ernoluments and ftinge benelits payable bythe Church to
its employees as approved by the responsible Apostolate and/or the
Provincial/DistrictRegional Finance or appointed Personnel Committee;
