EXECUTIVE ORDER NO.

5
FORMULATION OF BARANGAY NUTRITION COMMITTEE OF
POBLACION III, CLARIN, MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL

WHEREAS,R.A. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991,


mandate LGU’s to provide basic social services like health and nutrition.

WHEREAS, the Barangay Nutrition Committee is responsible for the nutrition


program to the constituents of the Barangay Poblacion III of Clarin, Misamis
Occidental more particularlyto the indigents;

WHEREAS, the priorities of action under the Philippine Plan of Action for
Nutrition which is:

1. Program on Infant and Young Child Feeding.


2. Food Fortification Program.
3. Micronutrient Supplementation.
4. Nutrition Education.
5. Home, School and Community Food Production Program.
6. Healthy Lifestyle Program.
7. Hunger Mitigation Program.
8. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Program.

WHEREAS, the National Nutrition Council Issued the National Policy on


Nutrition Management in Emergencies and Disasters wherein the Barangay
Nutrition Committee shall function as the Barangay Nutrition Cluster;

WHEREAS, in order to reorganized and revitalized the Barangay Nutrition


Committee, the following structure and organization leadership is hereby
instituted, to wit:
NOW THEREFORE, I, MARIA NENA S. CASTLLON, by virtue of the powers
vested in me as the Punong Barangay and Chiarperson of the Barangay
Nutrition Committee in Barangay Poblacion III, Clarin, Misamis Occidental,
do hereby order the following :

Section 1 : Formulation of the Barangay Nutrition Committee. The


Barangay Nutrition Committee of Poblacion III, Clarin, Misamis Occidental
is hereby formulated.

Section 2 : Composition. The Barangay Nutrition Committee of Poblacion


III, Clarin, Misamis Occidental shall be composed of the following:

Chairperson : Hon. Maria Nena S. Castillon, Punong Barangay


Vice Chairperson : Hon. Clint Mark S. Jimenez, Barangay Kagawad
Committee on Health

Members :
1. Mr. Reynzenth S. Belasa, Barangay Nutrition Scholar
2. Mrs. Asil S. Dapitan, Midwife
3. Hon. Ismyle Ann O. Labastida, NDP
4. Hon.Ernie S. May, Barangay Kagawad Committee on Finance
5. Hon. Florabel A. Badong, Barangay Kagawad Committee on
Womens / Agriculture

22. Section 3 : Secretarist. The Barangay Nutrition Service, headed
by Mr. Reynzenth S. Belasa Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS )
shall serve as the secretarist of the Barangay Nutrition Committee
of Poblacion III, Clarin, Misamis Occidental.

Section 4 : Functions. The Barangay Nutrition Committee shall have the


following functions:

 Inroduces innovation in the management of Nutrition Program.


 Advocates for the adoption and financing of the Barangay
Nutrition Action Plan ( BNAP )

 Coordinates and monitors nutrition and nutrition-related


activities of the Barangay;
 Mobilizes resources to ensure the plan is implemented;
 Conducts Periodic Visits and meetings with the Barangay
Nutrition Committee ( BNC ) to asses progress of the program
implementation and recommends appropriate actions;
 Provide technical assistance to the people of Barangay Nutrition
Committee ( BNC ) ;
 Evaluate the performance of the Barangay Nutritions Plans using
Monitoring and Evaluation at Local Level Plan Implementation
( MELLPI ) tools;
 Evaluate the performance of the Barangay Nutrition Scholar
( BNS )
 Holds Regular quarterly meeting to asses plan implementation
( Barangay Level ) ;
 Introduces innovation in the management of Nutrition Program.

Section 5 : Special Functions. The Barangay Nutrition Committee ( BNC )


of Poblacion III, Clarin, Misamis Occidental will be in-charged of Nutrition
management in Emergencies and Disasters.

The Barangay Nutrition Committee ( BNC ) of Poblacion III, Clarin, Misamis


Occidental shall function as the Barangay Nutrition Cluster. The cluster
shall be considered a sub-structure of the Barangay Disaster Coordinating
Council
( BDCC ).
The Barangay Nutrition Committee ( BNC ) of Poblacion III, Clarin, Misamis
Occidental shall coordinate with other barangay clusters as WASH ( Water,
Sanitation, Hygiene ) psychosocial, social protection, food and non-food
clusters.

Section 6 : Technical Working Group. There shall be a technical working


group of the barangay Nutrition Committee that shall compose of, but not
limited, to the following:

1. Barangay Nutrition Action officer


2. Barangay Nutrition Scholar
3. Barangay Kagawad Committee on Health
4. RHU Representative
5. DepED Representative
6. Secretary
7. Treasurer
8. Barangay Kagawads
9. Purok President Association BHW Association
10. BHW Association
11. NGO

Section 7 : Function of the Technical Working Group. The Technical


Working Group shall have the following functions :

1. Prepares the 3-year Barangay Nutrition Action Plan.


2. Conducts monitoring visits to the families of the
Barangay.

Section 8 : Effectivity. The order shall take effect immediately.
