CHAT GPT
What is the CHAT GPT?

ChatGPT is an AI language model developed by OpenAI. It is designed to engage in

conversations, answer questions, provide explanations, and assist with a wide range of tasks
by generating text-based responses. ChatGPT is based on GPT (Generative Pre-trained
Transformer) technology, which uses deep learning to understand and generate human-like
text.

1. Some things ChatGPT can do include:

2. Answering questions

3. Providing explanations on various topic

4. Assisting with writing and editing

5. Offering personalized suggestions and advice

6. Performing basic calculations

7. Creating creative content like stories, poems, and even code

The model is trained on a large dataset of internet text, so it has general knowledge on a
wide variety of subjects, although it doesn’t access real-time data or have personal
experiences.
HOW DOES CHATGPT WORK?

Input Encoding: When a user provides a request, the input is transformed into a format that can be
understood by the model. The text is tokenized (split into smaller units like words or sub words) and
encoded into numerical representations.

1. Contextual Understanding: ChatGPT processes the input in context. It analyzes the

relationships between words and phrases, taking into account previous inputs or parts of the
conversation to provide relevant and coherent responses.

2. Defining Probability Distribution: The model then calculates the probability of

different possible responses based on its training data. It evaluates the likelihood of various
tokens (words or sub words) appearing next in the sequence.

3. Sampling Next Tokens from Distribution: ChatGPT chooses the next token
(word or part of a word) based on the probability distribution it has defined. This step
involves sampling from the distribution to generate the most appropriate token.

4. Response Generation and Decoding: After sampling tokens, the model decodes
them to form coherent sentences. It constructs a full response based on the tokens selected in
the previous step and sends the reply to the user.
FUTURE ENHANCEMENT OF CHAT GPT:
Future enhancement for CHAT GPT could include improvements in
contextual understanding, allowing for deeper and more nuanced
conversations.

We might see better handling for specific domains, improved memory

capabilities to maintain context over longer interactions, and more
personalized responses based on user preferences.

Additionally, integrating multimodal inputs – like images and voice – could

expand the ways users interact with the model, making it even more
versatile and engaging.
CHAT GPT 3.5 vs CHAT GPT 4

Feature Chat gpt Chat gpt -4

(GPT-3.5)
Model version GPT -3.5 GPT-4
Accuracy Good, but can struggle with Higher accuracy and
complex questions handles complexity better
Context retention Decent, may lose track in Improved retention over
long conversations long conversat ions
Creativity Creativity but may lack More depth in creative and
depth nuanced responses
Error rate Prone to occasional I Reduced error rate and
inaccuracies and fewer hallucinate ions
“hallucinations”
Reasoning ability Basic reasoning Enhanced reasoning for
complex tasks
application General conversational Suited for complex and
tasks detailed queries.
WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE?

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science focused on building

systems that can perform tasks typically requiring human intelligence. These
tasks include learning from data, recognizing patterns, solving problems,
understanding language, and making decisions. AI uses algorithms and models
to simulate human cognitive functions, enabling machines to learn from
experiences, adapt to new information, and perform specific tasks
autonomously or with minimal human guidance.
TYPES OF AI (ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE):
Artificial narrow intelligence (ANI):

Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI) refers to AI systems designed to perform

specific tasks without general intelligence.

Key Points:

Task-Specific: ANI excels in limited areas but cannot adapt to new tasks.

No Self-Awareness: It operates based on algorithms and data, without

consciousness.

Example:

Siri or Alexa: These voice assistants can answer questions, set reminders, and
control smart devices but cannot perform tasks outside their programming,
like making strategic decisions in games or understanding complex human
emotions.
ARTIFICIAL GENERAL INTELLIGENCE:

Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), or “strong AI,” refers to AI that can

understand, learn, and apply intelligence across a wide range of tasks, similar
to human capabilities.

Key Points:

Generalized Learning: AGI can learn and adapt knowledge across different
domains.

Reasoning: It can solve complex problems and engage in abstract thinking.

Understanding: AGI would have a deep comprehension of the world and

human-like awareness.

Example: AGI is still theoretical, but a hypothetical example is a robot that can
converse, learn new skills, and perform various jobs like a human. Unlike
current AI,
ARTIFICICIAL SUPER INTELLIGENCE:

Artificial Super intelligence (ASI) is a hypothetical form of AI that surpasses

human intelligence in all aspects, including creativity, problem-solving, and
emotional understanding.

Key Points:
Exponential Learning: ASI can learn and adapt much faster than humans.

Self-Improvement: It can enhance its own algorithms autonomously.

Broad Competence: ASI would outperform humans in every field, from science
to the arts.
Implications:

While ASI could lead to groundbreaking advancements, it also poses significant

ethical risks and concerns about control. Currently, ASI remains a theoretical
concept, with ongoing discussions about its potential impact and safety.
The concept of artificial intelligence (AI) began in
the mid-20th century, rooted in ideas from
mathematics, logic, and cognitive science. Key
milestones include:

1. Turing’s Work (1950): Alan Turing proposed the

Turing Test to measure a machine’s ability to
exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to or
indistinguishable from that of a human.

2. Dartmouth Conference (1956): This event, organized by John McCarthy,

Marvin Minsky, Nathaniel Rochester, and Claude Shannon, is often
considered the birth of AI as a field. Researchers aimed to explore ways
to make machines simulate human intelligence.

3. Early Programs: In the following years, programs like the Logic Theorist
and General Problem Solver demonstrated early AI capabilities in
problem-solving and logical reasoning.

4. Advances in Symbolic AI: The 1960s and 70s saw progress in symbolic
AI, focusing on using symbols and rules to represent knowledge.

5. Challenges and Winter Periods: Throughout the decades, AI faced

periods of reduced funding and interest, known as “AI winters,” due to
unmet expectations and limitations of early systems.
6. Resurgence and Machine Learning: The late 20th century brought
resurgence with advances in machine learning, data availability, and
computational power, leading to modern AI applied.
