Project Details

1. Project Name : NextGen


Client : JB Hunt US.
Duration : May 2018 to Aug 2018
Role : Test Engineer

Project Description:

The NextGen project aims to become the most trusted and reliable source of data on an enterprise
scale for J.B. Hunt’s EDW system. Source systems are order, party and location, Legacy and
payments and target system is Enterprise Data warehouse. SSIS would be used for ETL operations.
Data from Data store (staging layer) will be loaded to the Enterprise Data (Data Warehouse Layer).
During the load, the dimensions will be loaded first. Based on the type of Dimension, the data load
will follow SCD Type 1 /SCD Type 2. Once the Dimensions are loaded, then the Fact table data will
be loaded. During this load, the surrogate keys from the Dimension tables will be inserted into the
fact to handle the link between facts and dimensions.

Responsibilities:

 Test Case preparation.


 Understand the mapping document and written the validation queries for all the tables
 To Execute the ETL validation scripts and data validation performed using platinum tool
 Raising JIRA for the defects for timely tracking the reports status
 Coordinating with the development team to get the defects fixed & timely delivery of reports

2. Project Name : OBIEE to COGNOS


Client : Walmart
Duration : Sep 2018 to Feb 2019
Role : Test Engineer

Project Description:

Walmart has decided to migrate its Logistics systems reports from OBIEE 10g to Cognos. The
Identified Logistics reports will be migrated from OBIEE to Cognos environment by sprint or Cycle
level based on the report usage and complexity level. Testing of these reports includes the following
tasks as part of the project:

 Dashboards and reports will be compared as is in both OBIEE and Cognos


 Data & Layout will be compared between OBIEE and Cognos reports.
 Performance of the reports will be compared in both OBIEE and Cognos.

Responsibilities:

 Testing the Cognos Business reports both standalone & dashboard reports of Walmart
 Comparing the data of Cognos with OBIEE by using cell wise comparison VBA macro
 Testing of FM package measures by creating reports both in OBIEE & Cognos
 Raising JIRA for the defects for timely tracking the reports status
 Coordinating with the development team to get the defects fixed & timely delivery of reports
 Security testing of reports for multiple user access types

3. Project Name : Mattel BI Strategy

Project Description:

OPLA is an Oracle based Reporting application and gets data from different source systems such as
MAX, PIM, WWL, AGILE, VQA, GCS, AG-MDW, MIMICS etc., The data is processed and stored in
various schemas in OPLA Oracle Database (PADMRT). ODI is Out of the Box Oracle Data Integration
tool used for data extraction from Agile Product Collaboration Module. Informatica Power Center and
Custom PL/SQL tools was used for data extraction from Agile Project Cost Management Modules. Data
from PIM, WWL source system and GRS data is interfaced using TIBCO/Oracle-PL/SQL. MAX, MDW,
VQA and GCS is interfaced using Power Center. Data from Agile Sandbox is loaded
into Netezza appliance, GCP. Cognos is the reporting tool used based out of OPLA (Oracle), Netezza and
GBQ .

Responsibilities:

 Test Case preparation.
