3.7.2 Reliability

Cronbach‘s alpha is a coefficient of reliability used by Cronbach Alpha (1951). It is commonly used as a
measure of the internal consistency or reliability of a psychometric test score for a sample of examinees.
Several authors such as Alwadaei (2010), Filed (2005), and Kothari (2004), state that an instrument that
provides a reliability coefficient of 0.70 is usually considered a reliable instrument. Hence, in this study,
the internal consistency for all items of the instrument was tested using Cronbach‘s alpha method.

4.2 Reliability Test


Based on Alwadaei (2010), Filed (2005), and Kothari (2004), rules of thumb, the overall coefficient of
Cronbach’s Alpha value of all items are 0.775, which is good and acceptable. The result shows that
having rationally high alphas suggested that the overall relationship of the independent variables and
dependent variable measurement is reliable. (See table 4.2 below).
