CREW MEMBER 1: DELFIN
DECK OFFICER: MATENCIO

Scene: Aboard a cargo vessel, a fire has broken out in the engine room. The crew must respond quickly
and follow emergency protocols.
[SFX: Sudden sounds of crackling fire, followed by the blaring sound of the fire alarm]

Captain Virtudazo (over PA system): “Attention all crew! A fire has been detected in the engine room.
Sound the fire alarm immediately!”

[SFX: Fire alarm bell rings throughout the ship]

Deck Officer Matencio: (Grabbing the radio) “Fire alarm sounded! Stop all cargo operations now! Repeat,
stop cargo operations!”

[SFX: Cargo machinery shuts down, alarms still ringing]

Captain: (Taking the radio, tuning to Channel 16) “Mayday, Mayday, Mayday! This is [Ship Name], calling
on Channel 16. We have a fire onboard in the engine room. We require immediate assistance. Over.”

Radio Reply Matencio (from port authority): “Roger, [Ship Name], Mayday received. Please provide
coordinates and the nature of the fire. Over.”

Captain: “Coordinates [give coordinates], fire detected in the engine room. We are attempting to control it.
Stand by for updates. Over.”

[SFX: Crew running to their stations, grabbing firefighting gear]

Captain (over PA system): “All crew, muster at your designated stations immediately! Firefighting team,
report to the scene of the fire!”

Crew Member 1 Toto Joh: (Shouting) “Engine team, prepare the standby engines for emergency departure!
Let’s go, move it!”

[SFX: Crew scrambling, standby engines roaring to life]

Captain: (Into the radio, coordinating with shore team) “Standby engines ready! We may need to let go of
lines if the fire spreads. All deckhands, prepare to let go on my command!”

[SFX: Rushing water, crackling flames, and crew voices coordinating]

Chief Officer Sumague: “Captain, we’re deploying the fire hoses! Get the fire plan ready, I need the layout
of all emergency exits and fire extinguishers.”

Captain (over PA system): “Fire plan is being activated. Check your sections and follow the firefighting
procedures according to the plan. All non-essential personnel, stand by for further instructions.”

Captain: (Checking on radio) “Shore authority, fire plan activated. We’re on it. Will update as soon as
possible. Over.”

[SFX: Firefighting efforts continue, alarms in the background fade slightly]
