Normal Display Interface

Control Pad Button Definition


Normal Operation

On/Off Switch
To turn on the display press and hold the POWER button. To turn off the display press
and hold the POWER button again while display is powered on. If the controls are not
operated and the bike is not used for 10 minutes the display will automatically shut
down.

PAS Level Selection


Press the UP button to increase your PAS level. Press the DOWN button to decrease
your PAS level. The lowest level for motor assistance is 1, the highest level is 9. Level 0
will have no motor assistance. The number of assist levels can be customized within the
“Personalized Parameters Settings Menu”.

Display Interface Switching


Press the MODE button to change between Speed and Total Distance views.
Information will cycle through in the following order: Running Speed → AVERAGE
SPEED → MAX SPEED → TRIP DISTANCE →TOTAL DISTANCE → TRIP TIME
Headlight/Display Backlight Operation
Briefly press the HEADLIGHT button to power on the headlight, taillight and display
backlight. When powered on press and hold the HEADLIGHT button to turn off the
headlight and display backlight.

Walk Assistance Mode


Press and hold the DOWN button to enter Walk Assistance mode. This will move the
bike forward at a speed of 6 km/h for you to walk along with. The WALK indicator will
light up on the display when in this mode. To exit release the DOWN button.

Note: Only use this feature while not seated on your eBike and with both wheels having
full contact with the ground.

Battery Indicator
The five battery bars represent the capacity of the battery. Each bar of the battery pack
symbol is equivalent to a capacity of approximately 20%. When the battery voltage is
low the frame will flash to indicate that the battery needs to be recharged.
Motor Power Indicator
The power output of the motor can be seen by the indicator circled below.

USB Connection
There is a standard USB port on the bottom of the display. This can be used for
charging of external devices. The port outputs 5V power at a max of 1A charging
current.

Error Code Display


This display will continually monitor the bike’s electrical components and report faults
when detected. If this occurs the corresponding error will appear on the display – see
the end of this guide for what each error code corresponds to.

General Settings Menu


To access the General Settings Menu, hold down the UP and DOWN buttons
simultaneously.
While in this, menu advance to the next option and save the current option by pressing
the MODE button.
To exit this menu at any time press and hold the MODE button.

Note: This menu can only be accessed and changed while the bike is stopped and not
moving.
Trip Distance Clearing
The display will show “tC-n” as seen below. To clear the trip odometer distance, press
the UP or DOWN button until “tC-Y” is displayed. Then press the MODE button to clear
and advance. If you do not want to clear the trip meter distance press MODE with “tC-n”
shown on the display.

Backlight Brightness
The display will show “bL” as seen below. Change between levels 1, 2 and 3 with the
UP and DOWN buttons. Level 1 is the lowest brightness, level 3 is the highest
brightness. The default value for this setting is 1. To save changes and advance press
the MODE button.

Speed and Distance Units


The display will show “U-#” as seen below. To change between Miles and Kilometers
use the UP and DOWN buttons.
• Set to 1 for display to use Miles/MPH
• Set to 2 for display to use KM/KM/h
To save changes and advance press the MODE button.
General Parameter Settings Menu
To access the General Parameter Settings Menu first enter the General Settings
Menu by following the instructions previously provided. Then press and hold the DOWN
and MODE buttons simultaneously to enter the General Parameter Settings Menu.

This menu is password protected – enter the password “0510” to advance into it. Use
the UP and DOWN buttons to change the selected digit and press the MODE button to
advance to the next digit.

When done making changes in this menu hold the MODE button to save any changes
and exit.

Wheel Diameter Settings


The display will show “Ld”. This does not need to be changed unless you put different
sized wheels on your bike. Change with the UP and DOWN buttons and save changes
or advance to the next setting with the MODE button.

Speed Limit Settings


The display will show “LS” as seen below. This setting will limit the bike’s motor to a
specific speed. The bike’s motor will then not function above this set speed. By default,
this is set to 25km/h. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to change this value and save by
pressing the MODE button.

Personalized Parameters Setting Menu


To access the Personalized Parameters Settings Menu first enter the General
Settings Menu by following the instructions previously provided. Then press and hold
the UP and DOWN buttons again simultaneously to enter the Personalized
Parameters Setting Menu.

This menu is password protected – enter the password “0510” to advance into it. Use
the UP and DOWN buttons to change the selected digit and press the MODE button to
advance to the next digit.
To access the desired settings page, press the UP and DOWN buttons to scroll through
in the order shown below until the desired page is displayed, then press the MODE
button to enter.
To save changes and exit this menu at any time press and hold the MENU button.

Note: Some of these values are not to be changed and are correctly set from the
factory. CHANGING CERTAIN VALUES AND SETTINGS INCORRECTLY CAN
CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BIKE OR MAKE IT INOPERABLE. Please proceed with
caution.

1: VOL – Battery Power Bar Settings


This setting will read VOL and can be used to set how the battery indicator corresponds
to battery voltage. This can be changed based on rider preference.
Each bar here represents a voltage value ie State of Charge for the battery. All 5
voltage values must be entered one by one. For example, VOL 1 is the voltage value of
the first bar ie 1 bar left in the battery indicator area. The default values for these are as
follows:
VOL 1 41.0 V
VOL 2 44.5 V
VOL 3 46.5 V
VOL 4 47.5 V
VOL 5 49.0 V

To set a value use the UP and DOWN buttons to increase or decrease the value. Press
the MENU button to advance to the next VOL value. To save and confirm any changes
press and hold the MENU button. This will also return you to the Personalized
Parameters Setting Menu.
2: SCA - Assistance Level Settings
Number of Assistance Levels Option
This setting will change the number of PAS levels the bike can use. There are 8
different modes to select: 0-3, 1-3, 0-5, 1-5, 0-7, 1-7, 0-9, 1-9. The default value is 0-5.

To change the number of assistance levels press the UP or DOWN buttons to choose
the desired number of PAS levels. Then press the MODE button to save and confirm
your selection as well as move onto the next PAS Ratio setting automatically.

PAS Ratio Settings


This setting will allow changes to motor power output in each PAS level. You can use
this to dial in how much assistance you want from the motor in each PAS level!
Use the UP and DOWN buttons to increase and decrease the motor power output level
for a PAS level as seen below. To advance to the next PAS Level press the MODE
button. After all desired changes have been made hold the MODE button to save
changes and return to the Personalized Parameters Setting Menu.

3: CUR – Current Settings


Controller Over-Current Cut Settings
This value does not need to be changed. CUR represents the controller max current
output setting. The default value for this is 25A. Hold the MODE button to return to the
Personalized Parameters Setting Menu.
4: PAS – Power Assistant Sensor Settings
Direction of PAS Settings
This value does not need to be changed. The correct default value is “run-F”. Press the
MODE button to advance.

PAS Sensitivity
SCN represents the sensitivity of the PAS for the bike. This value can range from “2” to
“9” with 2 as the most sensitive and 9 as the least sensitive. The default value is 2.

Use the UP and DOWN buttons to change this. When changed to your desired level
press MODE to save your changes and advance to the next setting.

Magnet Quantity Settings


This value does not need to be changed. The correct default value is 12. Press the
MODE button to return to the Direction of PAS Settings or hold the MODE button to
return to the Personalized Parameters Setting Menu.
5: SPS – Speed Sensor Settings
Speed Sensor
SPS represents Speed Sensor Settings. This value does not need to be changed. The
default value is 6. Hold the MODE button to return to the Personalized Parameters
Setting Menu.

6: HNd – Throttle Handle Settings


Throttle Push-Assistance Enable/Disable
HL represents the amount of power delivered to the bike by the throttle. When enabled
the throttle of the bike will only accelerate the bike to speeds of approximately 8km/h.
“HL-N” represents this being Disabled. “HL-y” represents this being enabled. By default
this value is set to N.

To change this setting use the UP and DOWN buttons. Store any changes made by
pressing the MODE button. This will also advance you to the next setting. If you wish to
return to the Personalized Parameters Setting Menu hold down the MODE button.

Throttle Level Enable/Disable


HF controls how the bike’s throttle behaves. With HF set to N the throttle will deliver the
full throttle power at a small twist of the throttle. With HF set the Y the throttle will deliver
power linearly based on how much you twist the throttle.
To change this setting use the UP and DOWN buttons. Store any changes made with
the MODE button. This will also advance you to the next setting. If you wish to return to
the Personalized Parameters Setting Menu hold down the MODE button.

7: SYS – System Settings


Delay Time Settings of Battery Power
dLY represents the delay time for battery power settings. This does not need to be
changed. The default value for this is 3. Press the MODE button to advance.

MAX Speed Limit


This setting will limit the bike’s motor to a specific speed. The bike’s motor will then not
function above this set speed. By default, this is set to 25km/h. Use the UP and DOWN
buttons to change this value. Save any changes and advance to the next setting by
pressing the MODE button.
Walk Mode Enable/Disable
PUS represents Walk Mode being enabled or disabled on the bike. By default, this is set
to Y. If you DO NOT want the Walk Mode feature to be functional on your bike you must
set this to N. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to change this value. Save any changes
and advance to the next setting by pressing the MODE button.

PAS Speed Settings


This setting will modify the overall speed in each PAS level the bike uses. This does not
need to be changed. By default, this is set to 25. Press the MODE button to advance.

Slow Start-Up Settings


SSP represents the slow start up setting. This will change the initial level of acceleration
provided by the bike when pedalling upon start up. It can be changed from 1-4 with 1
being the fastest acceleration and 4 being the slowest acceleration. The default value
for this is 1.
Use the UP and DOWN buttons to change this value. Save any changes and return to
the “Delay Time Settings of Battery Power” setting by pressing the MODE button. If you
wish to return to the Personalized Parameters Setting Menu hold down the MODE
button.
8: PSD – Power On Password Setting
Note: If you set your display to require a password to turn on and forget that password
you need to replace the display. Take care when doing this!

Power On Password Settings


When you enter the PSD menu the display will show P2 on the screen. You need to
enter the default password to advance further – this password is 1212. Use the UP and
DOWN keys to change a digit, then press the MODE button to confirm digit and
advance to the next one. With full password entered press the MODE button and
advance to the next selection.

Power-On Password Enable/Disable


The display will show PSd – you can use this screen to enable or disable the startup
password for your display. IF set to N you will not need a password when turning on the
display to operate the bike’s electronics. If set to Y you will need to use a password to
turn on and operate the bike’s electronics.

Use the UP and DOWN buttons to select between Y and N. Press the MODE button to
confirm selection. If you chose N you will return to the Personalized Parameters Setting
Menu. If you select Y you will advance to the Modify Power-On Password Menu, which
is the next step here.
Modify Power-On Password
When the display shows P3 and 0000 you will be able to set a new Power on Password.
This password will need to be input before the bike will turn on. Use the UP and DOWN
keys to change a digit, then press the MODE button to confirm digit and advance to the
next one. When all 4 digits are set press and hold the MODE button to confirm your set
password as well as exit the settings menu.

The next time you power on your eBike the display will show P1, 0000. You will need to
input your password to fully power on the bike and use it’s electric features.

Recover Default Bike Settings


If you have made changes to your bike’s settings that are impairing normal riding
operations and need to revert to the default settings, please do this.
• Press and hold the UP and MODE buttons for 2+ seconds
• Use the UP and DOWN buttons to select between Y and N
o Select N if you DO NOT want to recover default settings and revert any
changes you may have made
o Select Y if you want to recover default settings to the bike,
• With Y selected press and hold the MODE button for 2+ seconds to recover
default settings – the display will show DEF-00 and return to the normal display
interface if successful.
• If you wish to exit this menu without reverting to default bike settings press and
hold the MODE button with N selected.
Error Code Definitions
The display monitors some electrical components of the bike for any problems. If you
see the error indicator pop up for your display consult the table below and consult Biktrix
Support for assistance.
