Display Interface

Control Pad Button Definition


Normal Operation

Power On/Off
Press and hold the POWER BUTTON to turn on the bike’s display. This will power up the bike and let
you use the electronics such as the motor. To turn off the electronics press and hold the POWER
BUTTON again. If the bike’s electronics are not used for 5 minutes the display will automatically
power off (this time can be changed).

PAS Level Selection


Press the UP Button to increase the PAS level and the amount of assistance the motor will provide
you. Press the DOWN Button to decrease the PAS Leve and amount of assistance the motor will
provide you. When in PAS Level 0 you will get no assistance from the motor. This display offers PAS
Levels ranging from 1 for minimum assistance to 5 for maximum assistance.

Display Interface Switching


When the display is powered on by default it will show the Basic Interface as illustrated below. Tap the
MENU BUTTON to toggle between the menu screens shown below. When riding if your speed is
greater than 0 and the screen is not in the default Display Interface screen the view will return to the
default Basic Interface Screen.
Headlight Operation
Press and hold the UP Button for ~2 seconds to turn on the headlight. The Headlight Indicator on the
display will appear and the light will turn on. To turn off the headlight press and hold the UP Button
for ~2 seconds – the light will turn off and the headlight indicator icon will also turn off from the
display.

Walk Assistance Mode


Press and hold the DOWN Button to enter walk assistance mode. This will power the eBike’s motor
to run at a speed of 6 km/h, allowing you to walk alongside the eBike. To exit this mode, release the
DOWN Button. Note: Do not sit on the bike while using Walk Mode – this may overload the motor!

Display Interface Data Clearing


This menu can be used to reset data such as Trip Odometer, Average Speed and Maximum Speed.
10 Seconds after turning the display on when the screen is showing the Basic Interface press and
hold the MENU Button. Then the below screen will appear – use the UP Button and DOWN Button
to toggle between Yes and No and hold the MENU Button on your desired selection.

Battery Capacity Indicator


The battery capacity indicator on the lefthand side of the display consists of 5 segments when fully
charged along with the battery charge percentage. These will decrease as the battery is discharged
during riding. Consult the following table for the correlation between battery charge % and number of
bars showing in Battery Indicator Section.

Settings Menu
Note: This menu can only be entered within 10 seconds of turning on the display. If you have been
riding and wish to enter this menu, you will need to power the display off and back on to enter this
menu and make any changes.

Press and hold the MENU Button to enter the Settings Menu. Use the UP Button and DOWN
Button to toggle between parameters and menus. Tap the MENU Button to enter the parameter you
want to enter and change. Hold the MENU button to go back one level.

To save any changes you have made return to the main Settings Menu Interface pictured below then
hold the MENU Button to exit the menu and save all changes.
Basic Settings Menu
In this menu you will find basic information to change such as speed and distance units, clock time
setting and auto shutoff time.

Unit Setting
This is used to change the units shown on the display for speed and distance. These can be changed
between Metric (km) or Imperial (Miles). Use the UP Button and DOWN Button to choose your
selection and tap the MENU Button to confirm the selection. To leave this settings screen and return
to the previous screen press and hold the MENU Button.

Clock Setting
This is used to adjust the Real-Time Clock shown at the top of the display. Use the UP Button to
increase a digits value, the DOWN Button to decrease the digits value and the MENU Button to
advance to the next digit. Repeat for all numbers on the clock. When finished setting the time hold the
MENU Button to save the time and return to the previous screen.

Note: The Clock System shows a 24-Hour time reading and is not an AM/PM Time System. This
cannot be adjusted.
Maintenance Reminder
This can be used to display a reminder to perform any routine maintenance such as chain
replacement, brake pad cleaning, tire changes, etc. By default, it is set to 5000 – this cannot be
changed. Use the UP Button and DOWN Button to select “Off” or to select the maintenance interval
alert. When finished setting this hold the MENU Button to save the setting and return to the previous
screen.

Display Backlight Level Setting


This setting is used to adjust the brightness of the LCD Display backlight. This can be set between
Level 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Level 1 is the dimmest setting and Level 5 is the brightest setting. Press the UP
Button and DOWN Button to select your desired value. When the desired brightness is highlighted
hold the MENU Button to save the setting and return to the previous screen.

Auto-Sleep Time
This setting is used to set the time before the display automatically shuts off without any operation of
the motor or controls. This can be set to OFF, 5, 10, 20 or 30 minutes. By default, this is set to 5
Minutes. Press the UP Button and DOWN Button to select your desired value. When the desired
Auto Shut-off Time is set hold the MENU Button to save the setting and return to the previous
screen.
Power On Password Setting
Warning: If you set a Power On password and forget it the only way to operate the bike’s electronics
again is to purchase a new display.

This setting allows the bike’s electronics to only operate when a password has been entered. If set to
OFF no password is required to operate the display and use the bike’s electronics. If set to ON you
will need to enter a password upon powering up the display before you operate the bike’s electronics.
If you do not want a Power On Password select NO with the UP Button or DOWN Button and hold
the MENU Button to exit this screen.

With ON selected you will be prompted to set your desired Power On Password. Use the UP Button
and DOWN Button to change the digits value and tap the MENU Button to advance to the next digit.
With the password fully set and the final digit selected press the MENU Button to set the Power on
Password. If you wish to remove this password or change it you will need to enter this menu again
following the same steps as to you performed to set the password.

Information Menu
In this menu you can view some general information about the display, controller and battery.

Display Information
This screen will show information relating to the display such as hardware version and firmware
version. Hold the MENU Button to exit this screen.

Battery Information
This screen will not show any information on Biktrix eBikes. Hold the MENU Button to exit this
screen.
Controller Information
This screen will not show and information on Biktrix eBikes. Hold the MENU Button to exit this
screen.

Advanced Settings Menu


This menu contains some advanced settings such as wheel size, speed limit and number of PAS
Levels.

Note: This menu is password protected – a password must be entered before changing any settings
within it. This password is “1212”. Use the UP Button and DOWN Button to change the digits value
and tap the MENU Button to advance to the next digit. With the password fully set and the final digit
selected tap the MENU Button to advance to the selections in the Advanced Settings Menu.

Wheel Size Setting


This sets the wheel diameter the display uses to calculate the bike’s speed and distance travelled. It
should be set to the same size of tires as your bike has ie if you have 26x4” Tires on the bike you will
set this to 26. Press the UP Button and DOWN Button to select your desired value. When the
correct wheel size is highlighted hold the MENU Button to save the setting and return to the previous
screen.
Speed Limit Setting
This will set the speed limit of the motor of the bike. Whatever this value is set to, the motor will not
provide any extra assistance above this speed. This can be set between 5km/h and 99km/h. Press
the UP Button and DOWN Button to select your desired value. When your desired speed limit is
entered hold the MENU Button to save the setting and return to the previous screen.

PAS Mode
This will set the number of PAS levels the bike will have. This can be set to either 3 or 5 levels of
assistance. Press the UP Button and DOWN Button to select your desired value. When your desired
number of PAS Levels is highlighted hold the MENU Button to save the setting and return to the
previous screen.
Error Code Display
If the display detects any errors with the motor or controller they will be reported on the screen as
shown below. Here is a list of the error codes the display may show.
