Research indicates that students whose teacherlibrarian take active planning and teaching roles tend to achieve significantly

higher test scores. Teacher-librarians have come a long way from the time when they were considered caretakers of the book collection. Now they are information providers, consultants, curriculum activists, instructional leaders, production specialists and most important, teachers.
