Navigating Web of Science (WoS):


What is WoS?

database that holds research and studies that have been conducted
worldwide

How To Access WoS?

Google “Web of Science”

Click on “Web of Science” under “Web of Knowledge”

How To Use WoS?

Search your topic (Be as specific as possible)

Sort by “Citations: Highest First”

Use filters on the left to refine searches

How To Export Documents From WoS?

Click on Export —> Excel

Change “Record Content” and “Full Content and Cited References”

Choose “Edit” under “Custom Selection”

Select relevant variables of interest

Click “Save Selections” and then “Export”

Export the top 200 studies

Spreadsheet will be filled with ~200 studies

Only 100 will be used, so refine to your liking

Making Data Figures in Excel:
Make a new subsheet

Highlight the column you want (eg. Author Names)

Paste the column data to the new subsheet

To separate the data:

Highlight the column

Go to “Data” —> “Text to Column” —> “Delimited” —> (Select Delimiter)

To sort the data:

Highlight the column

Double click —> Select “Sort” —> Choose Sort of Choice

To represent the data:

Highlight the data

Go to “Insert” —> “Recommended Charts”

Use “Add Chart Element” as needed

Making Bibliometrix Figures in R:


Download and Access the “Bibliometrix” Library:

Go to “Tools” —> “Install Packages” —> Type “Bibliometrix”

In the Console, type library(bibliometrix)

In the Console, type biblioshiny()

Once in Biblioshiny:

Go to “Data” —> “Load Data” —> “Import Raw File”

Use filters on the sidebar to navigate data and click the Play button
