1.0 Purpose:
To provide a written procedure for control of pest in factory Premises.
2.0 Scope:

The procedure is applicable to control the various types of peststhat are visible on the
surfaces of floor, walls and roofs of functional areas.

3.0 Responsibility:

3.1. Licensed Rodent and Pest control agency:

3.1.1. To perform pest control activities.

3.1.2. To procure and bring required chemicals and tools for rodent and pest control
activity.

3.1.3. To maintain antidotes with chemical and pesticides.

3.1.4. To impart training to the personnel performing rodent and pest control in the facility.

3.1.5. To consult and suggest company authority regarding excursion in Rodent and pest.

3.1.6. To consult and suggest company authority for revision in procedure/activity


depending on need or trend.

3.1.7. To maintain Material Safety Data sheet for chemicals used at site.

3.2. HR officer/Designee:

3.2.1. To monitor ans supervise the operation.

3.2.2. To ensure compliance to the Procedure.

3.2.3. To trend rodent and pest control data and analyze it for excursion.

3.2.4. To review day to day data for adequacy and routine operation and review records.

Wear adequate personal protective equipments during handling of chemicals.

5.0 Definitions:

5.1. Rodents: Rodents are small mammals which have sharp front teeth that include

Rats, mice, squirrels and their relatives.

5.2. Pest: A destructive insect/animal that attacks crop,food and livestock.

6.0 Procedure:

6.1. Pest control:

6.2. Pest control shall be done using 3 layered approach:

6.2.1. Pest control outside the factory building and surrounding the building shall be done
on a weekly basis. The pest control of surroundings is essential to control the pest in
the periphery of the facility.

6.2.2. Second layer of pest control is done using physical control, sanitization and fly
killing. Physical control is done using an air curtain at entry points, tightly closed
doors and airlock facility.

6.2.3. Sanitization of doors at entry points, platforms (receiving and dispatch bays), airlock
and inside the facility plays a vital role in controlling pest intrusion. Maintaining
cleanliness at the entry point reduces attraction and possibility of intrusion inside the
facility.

6.2.4. Installing of UV light based Fly killers at inner sides of the door entry will attract fly
killers thus preventing its intrusion.

6.2.5. Third layer of protection is sanitization of the inside facility, fly killer (inside airlocks
and inside warehouse door (both sides of door)), and to some extent, glue trap will
further help to reduce the pest intrusion inside the manufacturing, warehouse and
other areas if it enters by crossing first and second layer of protection.

6.2.6. Fly killers and glue traps shall be monitored on a regular basis for the number of flies
killed by counting them in the tray and stuck on a glue trap.

6.2.7. For the pest control in the periphery of the plant, pest control agency personnel shall
visit the factory premises on a fixed basis as mentioned in agreement.

6.2.8. Pest control activity shall be done outside the building and in canteen.

6.2.9. The person from the pest control agency shall prepare required solution as per defined
concentration.

6.2.10. The pest control agency personnel shall spray the solution.

6.2.11. The different solution used for control of pests are mentined in below table:

6.2.12. Record for solution preparation and pest control activity shall be maintained.

6.2.13. HR personnel shall review the activity done as intended and shall do the signature in
the record after review as per format No.:CB/HR/___/__.

6.2.14. Fly killers and glue traps shall be monitored on a daily basis for the number of flies
killed by counting them in the tray and stuck on a glue trap.

6.2.15. Depending on the seasonal variation, the frequency of pest control treatment can be
re-defined.

6.3. Rodent control:

6.3.1. Roda Box, Rodent Bait Station or Glue Pads are used for rodent control in the factory

Premises.

6.3.2. Roda Box, Rodent Bait Station or Glue Pads are placed on both sides at the entry

Location of the premises as per location chart and location map.

6.3.3. Observation with respect to rodent shall be recorded by pest control agency and same

shall be monitored by HR personnel.

6.3.4. In case, rodent is observed, it shall be collected into polybag shall be handed over to

Pest control agency to dispose it.

6.3.5. The fresh Glue pad shall be placed at the designated location if rodent found trapped

on it.

6.3.6. Above procedure shall control rodents such rat, mice, lizard, and pest and Insects

such as spider, flies, mosquito, cockroach etc.

6.3.7. In case of any accidental exposure of pest control chemical, person shall be taken to
