standard operating procedures (SOPs)

18. Installs auxiliary main distribution frame as

19. Follows safety procedures in line with SOPs. 
20. Prepares necessary tools, equipment,
materials and personal protective equipment 
(PPE) in line with job requirements.
21. Identifies cable pulling & installation
requirements and constraints from plan and 
site inspection as per job requirements.
22. Sets up cable lay out and installation
equipment is set in accordance with 
manufacture’s and job requirements.
23. Secures and safe site for cable installation. 
24. Selects suitable protective clothing and use

required safety devices.
25. Assess support structure as safe for normal
 
working conditions.
26. Follows safety procedures based on safety
regulations, identifies and selects PPE in line  
with safety requirements.
27. Identifies and obtains tools, equipment,
pulling compound and safety requirements for 
the lay out and installation.
28. Installs and tensions properly the pulling

materials as to required specifications. *
29. Secures permanently the cable to support in
accordance with standard installation 
procedures.
30. Observes bending radius and loops tolerance
 
on cable materials at all times.
31. Follows schedule of wire cutting lists based
on estimates, quantity and sizes to avoid 
wastage.
32. Further instructions are sought if unplanned

events or conditions occur.

33. Checking of quality of work is done in


accordance with instructions and  
requirements. *
34. Final checks are made to ensure that work
conforms with instructions and job 
requirements. *
35. Supervisor is notified upon completion of
 
work.
36. Tools, equipment and any surplus resources
and materials are, where appropriate,

cleaned, checked and returned to storage in
accordance with established procedures
37. Work area is cleaned up and made safe
 
according to OHSA regulations
