• Since this should be a reflection of your own course experience, no reason to use GAI.
• No AI content is allowed in the final submission. Detected usage will be reviewed and

For this assessment you are to hand in an individual reflection paper (800-
word limit; figures and other creative presentations are all welcome). This
assignment accounts for 20% of your grade. The 800-word limit excludes titles
for figures and tables; paragraph headers; in-text citations and reference list (if
any). This paper gives you an opportunity to reflect on your learning journey
during the module and the insights you gained from CC0007. Write a paper that
discusses the impact of this course’s experience on your adoption of an
interdisciplinary perspective. The assignment is due Week 13 on your tutorial day
23:59 in NTULearn. (For example, if your tutorial session falls on Monday, it
would be due Week 13, Monday 23:59). Additional points to note:
• This is not English composition. We will not penalise for poor grammar, nor
award higher marks for fancy language.
• This is a personal reflection based on your course experience, not the
experience of your friend who has taken the course earlier.
• Given the above, there is no reason to use Generative AI for your work, so GAI
tools are strictly not permitted.
Please submit the “Declaration of Academic Integrity” to the appropriate portal.
The grading rubric is as follows:
I would also like to take this opportunity to Thank all the Teaching/
supporting staff, invited talkers and cluster managers for their great work
and effort to make our experience in class as engaging as possible. Most
of us enjoyed our time here!
The weekly sessions have lead us through many different subsets of life
that science and technology have impacted. It provided me with an
unhindered bird’s eye view of the issues in society today and make it
easier to process how can we think and innovate.
I did not expect the topic of elderly and genetics to randomly appear in
CC0007 class which was supposed to be about science and technology.
However, I soon realized how shallow my concept of the class was.
Science and technology have everything to do with humanity. In fact, it
was science, and technology was created to make human lives more
convenient and enjoyable. Increasing proportion of elderly who tend to be
less tech-savvy around the world coincided with the rapid shift of
communication technology created impending issues to be addressed.
I have also been able to empathise with the various levels of health and
functional limitations brought about by aging, which technology can help
to address or even overcome. With better understanding of what the
elders will eventually be facing, it helps us to come up with solutions that
is more holistic and purposeful. The segment on aging also prompted me
to reflect and be more sensitive when interacting with elder now that I
have a clearer understanding of what they may be going through.
We eventually concluded the topic on the sad reality of end-of-life
planning. This segment got me to reflect and consider a lot of what I
would usually brush off as “problem in the far future”. Not only I have a
better understanding of the procedure and government framework that
have been set up for Singaporeans, but I also understand that a large part
of it must be the decisions made by the individuals before it is too late.
Generative AI may not be new to university students, yet the class gave
me a much more complete understanding of Gen AI and how it grew from
Natural Language Processing.
The final topic is especially interesting on the topic of trust. We learnt the
use of authoritative means, familiarity (using familiar faces, shared values
or even professionals), rewarding programs to build exclusivity.
The trend of the next big things truly made an impact/ most powerful
when we do not thing of them/ let it run at the back without thinking of it.
