• Create an Emergency Patient with the following birth date:

- 10-05-2009 (10th may 2009)
- Acquire a test exposure on the emergency patient.
¹ with a configured U.S. date format MM-dd-yyyy the birth date of the emergency
patient is displayed as 05-10-2009 (may-10th-2009)
¹ with the default date format configured, dd-MM-yyyy the birth date of the emer-
gency patient is displayed as 10-05-2009 (10th may 2009).
• Start the FL-C SSW and select <System> <Image Rescue>.
• Press the <Image Rescue> button and answer the requester with <OK>.
¹ After a few seconds, the message !!! Image rescue completed with ...
!!! is displayed in the result window.
¹ The Patient Database is rebuilt.
• Press the <Image Rescue> button for the second time.
¹ Wait untill image rescue is done.
• Exit the SSW.
• In patient list browse for above created emergency patient.
• Verify if its birth date still is 10-05-2009, (10th may 2009) for the default date format
dd-MM-yyyy.
• In case U.S. date format MM-dd-yyyy is configured, check if the displayed birth date of
the previous emergency patient is displayed as 05-10-2009 (may-10th-2009)
- If the displayed birth date of the previous emergency patient is ! NOT ! displayed as
05-10-2009 (may-10th-2009) start FL-C SSW again and performe once again Image
rescue.

Installing the XCS SSW 0

NOTE For proper SRS (Siemens Remote Services) functionality, it

is mandatory that the the XCS SSW be installed on the FL-C
and be connected through the COM1 port to the SPC terminal
of the XCU!

• Insert the current system SW CD from the System Binder in the CD drive and wait until
the drive LED stops blinking.
- In the service mode, select System / System Settings.
- Press the Parameter Update button.
- The SW Installation shell for AXIOM ... appears.
- Under Service PC Software of, e.g. Iconos R200, click on V... (SSW) ... .
- Perform the further steps per the menu.
- Close the window.
- Remove the CD from the drive.

Preparing the Registry for correct FTP Auto Transfer Functionality 0

NOTE Please note that in the XCS SSW, under <Info> <Customer
Data>, all boxes must be filled in for correct SRS functional-
ity!

Due to a software characteristic, the registry must be edited to set up the FTP Auto transfer
correctly.
• Press the keys <Ctrl> and <Esc> simultaneously.
¹ The Windows Start menu appears.
- Select <Start> <Programs> <Command Prompt>
¹ A DOS window will appear at the bottom right edge of the display.
- In the active DOS window, type in regedit ↵ and press the Return key.
¹ The Registry Editor appears (Fig. 19 / p. 23).
- Browse to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SIEMENS\MedCom\Con-
fig\Modality\Global\MATERIAL_NUMBER] (1/Fig. 19 / p. 23)
- Double-click on V1 (2/Fig. 19 / p. 23)
¹ The Edit String window appears.
- If there is an entry in the Value data: field (3/Fig. 19 / p. 23), completely highlight it
with the left mouse button and copy it to the clipboard by pressing the <Ctrl> and <C>
keys simultaneously.
- Close the Edit String window with Cancel.

• Now navigate to to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SIEMENS\Med-

Com\Config\Modality\Global\MaterialNumber] (1/Fig. 20 / p. 24).
- Double-click on V1 (2/Fig. 20 / p. 24)
¹ The Edit String window appears.
- Click in the Value data: field.
- Simultaneously press the key combination <Ctrl> and <V>
¹ The Material Number will be pasted into the Value data: field (3/Fig. 20 / p. 24).
- Close the Edit String window with OK.
- Close the Registry Editor with X.
- Close the DOS window at the bottom right edge of the display.

If System Management has to be Reconfigured 0

NOTE Prerequisite for the following configuration steps of System

Management is that the SRS router is set up correctly (refer
to the corresponding system Startup Instructions). Other-
wise the System Management installation will fail.
This document is N O T intended for initial SRS setup. For
this, see the corresponding Installation and Startup Instruc-
tions (AX41-060.814.37) !

NOTE These instructions are not applicable for initial System Man-
agement installation!
The following paragraph describes how to restart System
Management if it was previously in use.

• Select System / System Management from the service main menu.

NOTE Every time the System Management tab is selected, the sta-
tus of the agents is updated. This takes approx. 4-5 seconds.
During this time, a command window is displayed.
Please wait until the Command window disappears before
you proceed.

- Press the Ping button to check whether the System Management Server is reach-
able.
- Wait a few seconds for the result window of the ping.
- If the ping is not successful the first time, try again.
- Mark the System Management Base Installed H checkbox.
¹ The Activated checkbox is marked and dimmed automatically.
• Start the installation process by pressing the Apply button.
¹ A command window will appear at the lower right corner of the screen.
- Drag the command window towards the center of the screen and enlarge it to watch
the installation routine.
¹ Installation and activation now takes about 25 -30 minutes and runs automati-
cally.
- If a window, titled Unicenter comes up, ignore it.
- At the end of the installation and activation, a pop-up appears requesting a reboot.
- Confirm the reboot with OK.
¹ During the reboot, the system requests a template from the server, whereby the
System Management installation is concluded. Depending on the connection, this
can take up to 15 minutes.
- Once the system has booted up to the application user interface, wait 15 min.
- Open the FL-C Service SW and select System / System Management.
- The following conditions must be met:

Reinstalling FL-C Online Help and Online User Manuals 0

To reinstall the FL-C Online Help, proceed as follows:

• In the service mode, select System / System Settings.
- Insert the CS CD-ROM FL Compact Online Help (Print No.
AX41-060.880.0X.0X.02) into the CD drive and wait until the LED stops blinking.
- Press the Parameter Update button. A command window will pop up. Enlarge it and
follow the instructions on the monitor.
- Remove the CD from the drive.

To reinstall the Online User Manuals, perform the following steps:

- Insert the Online User Manuals CD into the CD drive and wait until the LED on the
drive stops blinking.
- Press the Parameter Update button and follow the specific instructions.

Installing the Service CDs 0

• If there are patches for the FL-C application or Microsoft Hotfixes available, install them
according to the appropriate UI.

Final Work Steps 0

• If the DICOM viewer was installed previously, refer to the FL-C Online Help for the pro-
cedure to reinstall it. Consult the customer to verify that the viewer should be installed.
• If the link speed of the DICOM network interface card was previously set differently from
the default, ⇒ auto, then refer to (Read out the link speed of the primary network inter-
face card / p. 5) to reestablish the desired setting.
• Check to make sure that all options for the site are available.
• Switch off the system.
• Wait until the FL-C has shut down (this may take up to 2 minutes).
• Switch on the system and wait until the FL-C application software is running.
• Check for correct functioning of the image flip with fluoroscopy.

Copying Patient Studies from an Old Hard Disk to a New Hard Disk
with an Empty Image Partition (optional) 1.4

NOTE This step becomes necessary when a PC is replaced and the

customer wants to save patient studies from the old hard
disk. Therefore they have to be transferred to the new hard
disk.

Prerequisites 0

• The step ’New installation of software, including the partitioning of the HD’ must already
have been performed completely, including the restore of the site-specific data.
• There are no images on the new hard disk.
• Switch off the system.
• Wait until the FL-C has shut down.
• System power has to be turned off at the main breaker.

Work Sequence 0

NOTE The following hardware configuration is expected:

- New PC with new HD already installed
- SW installed on new HD

• If not already done, remove the left cover from the old PC now.
- To do this, release the latch (green button at the upper right corner on the rear of the
PC housing) and pull the side panel up.
- Remove the front panel of the PC.
- Disconnect the power / data connection cables at the rear of the hard drive.
- The hard drive is installed in the 5 1/4” cage right below the DVD drive
(2/Fig. 21 / p. 29).
- Carefully pull out the hard drive from the old PC.
• Use the free SATA Power connection cable from the new PC (which is part of every PC)
and plug it into the power socket of the hard disk of the old PC as shown in
(1/Fig. 22 / p. 29).
• Use the free SATA Data connection cable from the new PC (which is part of every PC)
and plug it into the data socket of the hard disk from the old PC as shown in
(2/Fig. 22 / p. 29).
- Place the old hard disk beside the container as shown in (Fig. 24 / p. 29).
- For better access, remove the fan from the chassis and put it aside as shown in
(2/Fig. 24 / p. 29).
