All human connections are based on how we communicate.

It affects personal
relationships, in this case the student-teacher relationship. Effective relationship among
teachers and students is the key to a successful educational experience.
Communication is a huge topic and to communicate effectively, it can be done in
multiple ways such as active listening, clarity and brevity, empathy and respect. It has
been found that among all of them, learning how different teachers conduct their
classes is the best way to help students reform themselves and enhance their academic
results. However, many students find them difficult to process.

Mutual respect is a necessity in any relationship, but especially when it involves

students and teachers. This allows them to have the respect and support of both sides.
Respecting others might mean listening closely to what other people have to say,
recognizing that teachers are in charge of their education and could contribute to
classroom discussions. For the students, who are open to their teachers, usually attain
success in that environment and may have better learning experience. A student might
be more noticed, and get assistance of a higher overall quality by respecting the
teacher's work and knowledge during the lesson. When students share their thoughts
and feelings in a comfortable environment it leads to stronger relationships, which
enhances overall learning outcomes. While this seems simple, but not easy, it is a win-
win for everyone involved, ensuring at the end of the day instruction meets where
students are.

However, Respect without keeping boundaries is meaningless. They should make sure
that students are comfortable to express their thoughts, questions, and concerns related
to the subject or teaching style. This means in a calm, respectful manner how to not be
neither passive nor aggressive. If you do not like the way a teacher teaches, for
example, you may tell them of other ways in which he can do his teaching complying
with the students’ satisfaction to understand. But if, for some reason, the teacher didn’t
listen to the students’ complain and met him with anger, the student should remain
silent as it well break all respect earned and do one of the following: Either go to the
teachers boss and complain in a decent matter, as it will affect your communication with
them, or to try to be reflexive with the teachers way of teaching because in most cases
you really don’t have a choice.

In conclusion, excellent communication is everything for a positive student-teacher

dynamic which directly affects your academic performance. This opens the door to a
collaborative atmosphere where both sides feel respected and heard. Without active
listening, empathy and clarity students are unable to express their thoughts and
teachers are not able to guide them further. That said, boundaries are essential, respect
comes first. Students should also handle obstacles by carefully balancing
assertiveness and respect. Efforts to establish a successful communicative setting at
last go beyond with more positive learning experiences and a more supportive
academic environment which helps every one of us to succeed.
