 Good Morning every one!

 Let me start this session with a prayer.


 Welcome to our school WESTMIN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY I’m very
Happy that you have chosen our school as part of your training
 I would like to introduce myself I am Miss ANA LIZA M. ALMOCERA 34 years
of age, under Tourism Sector,trainerin this Institution.
 So welcome
 But before that I want you to fill in our attendance sheet, whatever information
here please fill in
 According to the list that was given to me there are 4 trainees in the report
 Based on the training Regulation BPP NC II has 141 nominal duration
including the basic competencies and common competencies
 Let us start this training with an orientation on the training process.
-Power Point Presentation-
 Basic competencies have 18 hrs, under basic competencies are:
1. Participate in Workplace Communication
2. Work in team environment
3. Practice career Professionalism
4. Practice Occupational Health and Safety Procedures
 Common Competencies have 18 hrs, under common competencies are:
1. Develop and Update Industry Knowledge
2. Observe Workplace Hygiene Procedures
3. Perform Computer Operation
4. Perform Workplace and Safety Practices
5. Provide Effective and Customer Service
 Core competencies have 105hrs nominal duration, core competencies are:
1. Prepare and Produce Bakery Product
2. Prepare and Produce Pastry Product
3. Prepare and Present Gateaux, Tortes and Cakes
4. Present and Display Petits Fours
5. Present Desert

 In this Institution there is a unique delivery mode which is the CBT, let me
introduce to you what is CBT Competency Based Training it is a training
delivery approach that focus on the competency development of the learner as
a result of the training and it emphasize what the learner can do, it is
concerned with the attainment and application of knowledge, skills and attitude
to a specific level of competency. In CBT, the education and training system
should begin and end with the customer needs.
 Why the competency based approach? Education and training must keep
pace with technology and customer requirement
 There are 10 principles of CBT
 1. The training is based on curriculum developed from the competency
standards – Learning is based on the competency-based curriculum.
Competency standards are developed in consultation with industry. The
curriculum of the training programs offered by training institutions is developed
based on the competency standards.
 2. Learning is competency-based or modular in structure – Modular learning
means the training program designed and implemented using the modules
identified in the curriculum.
 3. Training delivery is individualized and self-paced or learning is done by the
learner at own pace- The pace of learning is driven by the learner. Self-paced
learning is not time bound. Learning is complete when the learner can
demonstrate competence. The self-paced learning environment is supported
by a range of learning materials, courseware and worksheet to assist learner
management.
 4. Training is based on work that must be performed or learning is based on
the actual industry practice. The knowledge, skills and attitudes to be learned
by the learner is determined by the work or task to be performed as defined in
the competency standards.
 5. Training materials are directly related to the competency standards and the
curriculum or Competency Standard to Competency Based Curriculum to
Learning Materials. Training materials have a task focus related to the
competency standard and their aim is not information transmittal but
experiential learning.
 6. Assessment of learners is based in the collection of evidences of work
performance based on industry or organizational required standard or students
are not judge against each other. Assessment is collecting a range of
evidences in order to judge the learner’s ability to demonstrate competence.
Evidence may be collected by the learner and the trainer. Evidence is based
on the performance of work to industry standard.
 7. Training is based both on and off the job components or better learning with
industry and school partnership. Training is divided between learning in a
formal classroom/workshop setting and supervised training in the workplace.
 8. The system allows Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – Recognition of
prior learning allows a learner to present evidence to indicate current
competence. Evidence may include qualification, relevant experience in the
industry and sector or competencies gained at another TESDA approved
institutions.
 9. The system allows for learner to enter and exit programs at different times
and levels and to receive an award for competencies attained at any point –
There is flexibility for entry and exit from program. Multiple entry and exit refers
to the instructure of the training program. Training allow for multiple entry and
exit for learners leading to the receipt of certification for individual
competencies.
 10. Approved training programs are nationally accredited – Training programs
are registered within UTPRAS. Institution training program are delivered on
the basis of having the appropriate equipment and resources for training and
assessment, including qualified instructors as certified by a registration
certificate issued by TESDA. After completing the course, learners can be
nationally certified.

 The CBT Process Flow – Trainee enters program- When I welcome you that’s
the time you enter/begin the program
 When selecting competency and receive instruction, I am going to give self-
assessment check list/pre assessment test or what are the competency
needed on your training
 Review learning package
 Review multi media - we have a lot of computer there that you are going to
use, you can actually load and watch video
 Use of manual
 I will going to observe your demonstration
 Trainer Observe Demonstration – I am going to observe your performance
 If you are ready then answer the job sheet, if I ask you to perform something
then I will observe your performance
 The I will rate your performance task, and you will rate also
 If you are satisfactory performed all the 5 units of competency of bppyou are
given certificate of achievement and undergo National Assessment
 If you have not completed the competencies then you are given enough time
to review the unit of competencies

 The CBT Trainer- major role: Coordinating learning activities other than
traditional dispensing of information
 The role of the CBT Trainer are:
1. Serve as a team member to determine what is to be learned
2. Stimulates trainees motivation
3. Manage learning a consultation rather than a provider of information a
facilitator of the learning
4. Diagnose and solves learning problem
5. Evaluates/record student achievement

 Role of CBT trainee


1. Trainees read the information sheet and answer self-check
2. Trainees follow the task sheet/job sheet and perform competently all the
task/job required in every unit of competency
3. Trainees submit for assessment
4. Accomplished trainee record Book (TRB)
 The use of CBLM – Competency Based Learning Materials package is simply
a well-designed and carefully developed learning material that gives trainees
detailed instruction to guide them through the learning process.

 These area is our progress chart – these were you will find your name and
here are the competencies that you are going to finish, and once you finish the
learning outcome I will check here, so you will know your progress here
 These is our learning resource area – This area provides the learner with the
knowledge in the various module
 These is the practical work area – This area you are going to practice in
acquiring skills and knowledge
 These is the Assessment Area – Whenever you are ready always ready you
can always come here and be assessed
 Trainer Resource Center – This area houses the learning materials, TR,
CBC
 Contextual Learning laboratory – This area ensure the underpinning
knowledge, science, mathematics, and communication principle or the library
 Quality Control – Were you can find your output and project
 Distance Learning – Outside the Institution or through online
 Computer laboratory – Were you can use the computer, download and
others
 Support Service area – This provide value adding information for other
qualification
