Risk Matrix:

Level of risk is determined by combining the severity of consequence with the


likelihood.

The most popular tool used here is Risk Matrix which is sometimes called
Probability-Impact Matrix.

(A) Probability Scale:

5 Almost Certain:
Could occur several times per year

4 Likely:
Could occur once per year

3 Possible:
Could occur once every 2 to 5 years

2 Unlikely:
Could occur once every 6 to 10 years.

1 Rare:
Could occur once every 11 years or more.

Easily remedied, with some effort the objectives can be
achieved.

1 Negligible (insignificant):
Very small impact, easily treated by normal processes

(C) Level of Risk:

Low Risk : 1–4

Medium Risk : 5 – 9

High Risk : 10 – 25
