Beginning of Holidays & Hopes

MUM we are hear called out Emma and

Charlie together. Huh! Finally the
schools have broken apart for us. It was
a fairly long term this year exclaimed
Emma. Emma, Henry told me on the
way back from school that we must all
meet at the treehouse we built last
summer at half past three said Charlie.
Both of them galloped their lunch and
rushed to the woods. Oh I see you two
are having a holiday said their mum. If
you plan to go to the treehouse later
this evening do take the jar of chocolate
chip cookies I baked for you this very
morning and some crackers for the new
parrot that Sam bought. Oh thank you
so much mum, we were about to raid
the ladder in a minute to see if we could
gather something to munch at the
treehouse called out Charlie from the
playroom joyfully. In no time they were
standing right under their treehouse at
Diverson Woods. Hi Charlie and Emma
waved Sam as he was the first one to
arrive with the parrot. I bought some
lollies for us from the money I got by
cleaning the garage last week told Sam.
Oh we got quite a bunch of things to
munch upon as well spoke Emma. They
all decided that once they were at the
treehouse they shall name the parrot
that Sam bought from the money he got
on his birthday. In a few minutes all of
them, Henry, Emma, Charlie, Sam,
Chloe and Grace were settled at the
treehouse well hidden in the thick
branches and big leaves of their beloved
tree ready to name the colourful parrot
who repeated anything that they spoke
about. It was fun at first but than it
started to grow annoying.

Naming The Parrot & A Game

What shall we name the parrot asked

Chloe who was quite fond of animals
and often when she went to Scotland to
meet her brother, she saw lots of animal
sanctuaries. Well lets name it something
nice and glamorous said Grace. Well lets
name it something nice and glamorous
repeated the parrot after Grace which
made them all laugh. How about we
make a list of possible names and then
conduct a voting for each name,
although we are not allowed to vote for
the names we suggest said Henry who
was the first one to recover from the
laughing and giggling. All of them
agreed to this as it was the best
possible way to decide the name for the
parrot without fighting over their own
suggestions. Charlie took out his
notebook and started asking everybody
in turns for one suggested name for the
parrot. Well than lets conduct the voting
called out Charlie handing them all a
piece of paper to right the name they
want to vote for. So, the choices are Ben
suggested by Henry, Charles by Sam,
Emma suggests John, Chloe gave the
name Noah, Arthur by Grace and I
suggest we should name it Harper. They
all voted for the names out of the list
Charlie had read. Charlie took back all
the papers and opened them to check
each vote. Well, all the votes go to the
name Nah suggested by Chloe except
obviously her own vote. Noah, Noah,
Noah started off the parrot which made
them all giggle. Well than it is settled
that Noah also likes his own name very
much said Emma. Well than how about a
game of snap asked Henry to the others.
They all enjoyed playing snap that
evening, nibbling little tit bits they had
brought with them.

Henry Spots Something

They were all well off playing the game

snap. Snap said grace half shouting.
Henry almost gave a shriek almost in
time to stop himself. Look there!
Exclaimed Henry. They all shifted their
focus from their jolly well game of snap
to the thick rattling bush under the tree
facing opposite to them. Hey is there
somebody sitting behind the bush said
Grace. I can’t see much said Sam. Shhh!
Said Charlie quite fiercely to all of them.
They saw that the man suddenly started
to run off out of the bush. Now they
were all simply staring at a little bush.
Well, said Chloe breaking the long bond
of silence, that was quite a bit of a
shock wasn’t it. I feel something weird
about this said Emma. I wish he had
turned his head so we could take a
detailed description of his face. Quiet
true said Henry. All we could see was
that the man was wearing a grey coat
with black strips and had a hat on his
head which only had patches of his hair
added Sam. It might lead to nothing but
what beats me is that why would a fully
grown man be hiding in a bush and then
out of nowhere in a split of a second
start to rush off in top speed as if he had
been racing the wind said Grace. I
suggest we should check for some
footprints and then maybe we could
draw them in my book, if something
bigger shows up out of this said Henry.
Well I don’t expect much could come out
of this but I think there might be no
harm in taking up the footprints on a
piece of paper said Charlie. No sooner
they had climbed down from the
treehouse and started to hunt about for
some footprint made by the utmost
peculiar man. Charlie pulled out the
paper pad and a pen to star drawing the
footprint Grace had spotted next to the
bush, they thought than it might have
been made while the man was hiding in
the bush. They all saw Charlie taking the
footprint on the paper as he was as well
extremally good at drawing. I think that
now we should start to head back to our
homes as it is quite late now suggested
Chloe. Well how about we all meet here
at ten tomorrow morning said Sam, to
which all of them agreed and started to
walk back home.

√Sam, Noah, Chloe & something

exciting

They had all started to walk back to

their houses. Chloe and Sam were
walking together as they both lived at
the same street. Oh shoot! Exclaimed
Chloe. I forgot to bring back the cutlery I
borrowed from my mum and promised
her that I shall return it back tonight. I
think in midst of all this excitement it
just slipped off my mind she told Sam.
Well said Sam we are not far from the
treehouse lets run back get your cutlery
and rush back home. They both started
racing back up on the hill to go back to
the Diverson Woods. Chloe started to
climb up on the treehouse while Sam
and Noah stayed at the bottom of the
tree waiting for her to come back. That
is when both of them heard two men
talking in front of the same bush they
saw a man hiding earlier that evening.
Chloe wasted no time to hid in the
treehouse while Sam and Noah were
well hidden under the treehouse behind
some thick bushes. Sam was frightened
that Noah might say something and give
away their hiding spot hence he
commanded Noah to stay quiet.
However Noah was not in a mood to be
obedient and flew to the talking man.
Meanwhile Chloe was astonished to see
that one of the talking man was the man
they had spotted the man with the grey
coat with black stripes and a hat with
patches of hair as one of the two man.
She was trying hard to listen to their
conversation as they were talking in
whispers and she was too far away to
listen to the exact words being spoken
by the me. She was even more
astonished to see that Noah had flown
to the men and started saying, “ Daniel
is at the scarecrow”. The men were
vexed by the parrot repeating their
secret out loud in midst of the woods
and ran away. Noah flew back to Sam
who was joined by Chloe now with the
cutlery. Well, I make no heads or tails of
that now lets walk back home and then
tomorrow we can tell everybody about
the little adventure we just had. Both of
them rushed back home thinking how
very worried their parents might have
been if they arrived this late in the
evening.

Some Ideas & Tasks

The next day very punctually they all
had gathered up to the treehouse and
by this time they were all wide eyed
listing to Chloe and Sam who were
poring out their long tale to the others.
However we do not know what to make
out of any of the happening said Sam. I
think that Daniel might be some
criminal who might be hiding in a
scarecrow said Emma quiet confused
herself. But it doesn’t make a lot of
sense said Charlie. Why would a man
hide in a scarecrow and what beats me
even more is why are the other two men
trying to protect whosoever is Daniel.
Wait a minute called out Grace maybe
they have kidnapped someone and they
are hiding them at the scarecrow. Well
that might be an idea said Grace. If
that’s so than we should all go to the
police station to check if there are any
missing posters out there to conform
our doubts. They all started off for the
police station. They all were very high
on hopes and very felling quite sure that
somebody might having gone missing.
Each one of them having wild ideas for a
missing person.

A Disappointment & a Brainwave

They all reached to the nearest police

station and they saw that the board
where there were usually pictures of
missing people was completely empty.
To their bitter disappointment the janitor
told them that there were no missing
people just a few thefts happening in
the town. This let down towards the high
hopes of the children. What shall we do
now? asked Emma. There are no missing
people in the town yet. What could be
the thieves hiding in the scarecrow? said
Chloe quiet gloomily. Let’s walk back to
the treehouse and rethink on the
mystery again. After a long tiring walk
back to the treehouse the children still
could not think of any possible
explanation of the things they heard and
saw. How about we all play a game or
two to lighten our minds and then we
can think about the mystery again said
Grace. They all agreed and started
playing ludo. They all sa
