beautiful thing’
Namaste, respected Principal mam teachers and all my dear friends. I
am Shresta Sutrave, with my team, here to present a skit on the topic
awareness about bullying.
The characters of this skit are Pragna Sharvani as Pragati, Shivanshu
Patra, Saksham Bisht, Sampada Tirumala, Hemanth, Sasi Kasyap,
Srihithi as Tanya, SriNitya as Nitya, Thanmayi, Sriya.
Scene 1 (Saksham being mocked)

Narrator: It was the month of august. The results of the unit test,
which were held in July were out. Some were happy while some were
sad because of their scores. As usual, the class was full of chatter.
Everybody was busy with some or the other thing. The teacher had
not yet arrived. Meanwhile let’s peek in the chat of Hemanth,
Saksham and Pragati.

Hemanth: Hey Saksham, what’s up man? How's it going?

Saksham: (with a mildly cheerful tone) Ah just going with the flow
man, what about you?
Hemanth: Well, it’s been pretty fun, I got a 97 on the recent math
exam, how did you do on it?
Saksham: eh I’d rather not talk about it.
Thanmayi: Oh man, he got a 54, terrible I know
Hemanth: Didn’t he study for it a lot? He skipped our class outing for
that too
Thanmayi: Yes, I know right. I feel bad for you (pointing towards
Saksham) I didn’t even study and scored higher than you.
Saksham: oh really! How much did you score?
Thanmayi: 85
Saksham: oh…… nice, well I got to go guys, see you around.
(Saksham leaves feeling bad, while the other two giggle as he leaves)
Hemanth: Man, just how dumb does anyone need to be to score that
worse.
Thanmayi: don’t know man, he probably slow-witted

Scene 2 (Conversation between 2 friends)

Narrator: Afterwards, the teacher arrived and classes begun as usual.

Later during the short break.

Shivanshu: bro, did u see the new series that came out. It’s fabulous.
Saksham: Nah, I didn’t have time for that, I was busy.
Shivanshu: What task did u do to be that busy?
Saksham: I have been studying and pulling all nighters for study
purpose.
Shivanshu: That explains all the dark circles. But why study all day
and night? A person needs their rest too.
Saksham: I scored bad like really bad on the last math exam, so I have
to study.
Shivanshu: it’s alright, you will improve if you don’t understand
anything
Saksham: Yes, but it’s terrible because others like Hemant and Pragati
who dint even study properly and got way higher than me
Shivanshu: As much as I don’t want to admit it, they are good at
studies, u don’t have to compare them with yourself with them.
Saksham: I mean those two keep talking about how much better they
did than me even though I studied more, I think I even heard them
call me slow behind my back
(the counsellor is behind them both on another table and has heard
what both of them have been talking about)
Counsellor: Saksham come to my room tomorrow morning, I want to
talk to you
Saksham (confused and kind of worried): why ma’am, what
happened?
Counsellor (with a kind smile): oh nothing much, I just want to talk to
you once
Saksham (worried): Alright ma’am, I’ll see you first thing in the
morning tomorrow
Counsellor: see you tomorrow then (leaves)
Shivanshu: What happened? Why did she want to see you?
Saksham: I have no clue man

SCENE 3

Hemanth: (approaching with Pragati mocking): look who’s here the

forever sad Nitya
Nitya: (to herself, softly): why do they always target me
Thanmayi: (laughing): Because you are always the easy target
Sampada: (entering, noticing the scene): Leave her alone, guys. Can’t
you see she’s had enough
Hemanth: (sarcastically): oh, the hero arrives. What’s your name new
kid?
Sampada: (calmly): Sampada. And I won’t stand by while you bully
others.
Thanmayi: (challengingly): You’re asking for trouble Sampada.

SCENE 4

Narrator: on the playground, Nitya and Sampada find a moment of

peace, until the bullies return to shatter it

Nitya: (to Sampada, relieved): Thanks for standing up for me earlier.

Sampada: (Smiling) no worries. Those guys need to learn some
manners.
Thanmayi: look who’s bonding over their miseries
Hemanth: yeah, you two should start a crying hub.
Sampada: Why don’t you find something productive to do
Nitya: Leave us alone. We are done with your nonsense.
Hemanth: whatever.

SCENE 5

Narrator: The next day in the counsellor’s office…

Tanya: so, Saksham, how have you been holding up? I see you are not
getting much sleep
Saksham: well mam midterms are coming soon and I have to study a
lot so that I can do well
Tanya: But your sleep and health are as much important as studies
Saksham: But if it’s done to keep up with my friends then, it should
be fine mam.
Tanya: why do you compare yourself with your friends? Everyone
works at a different pace and you are making steady improvement
from what I have heard
Saksham: (irritated) Well if I do better, I won’t be called slow witted
or anything since I do worse than ithers even though I put in a lot
more effort than most.
Tanya: Don’t let others talk to you like that. Do you agree with them?
Saksham: no mam, I Don’t agree with them. But it hurts to listen to
people calling me dumb or slow. It makes me feel I am worthless.
Tanya: I understand. It’s never easy to hear such things, especially
when you are trying your best. But do remember that your worth is
not determined by what others think of you. Comparing only adds
unnecessary pressure to live up to the mark.
Saksham: But they remind me of my short comings and I feel….
Tanya: it human to feel that way. But focus more on your progress
than on these comments. Let’s work on building your self-confidence
and find ways to cope up with all the stress.
Saksham: I really appreciate that mam, thank you.

SCENE 6

Narrator: After a session with the counsellor, miss Tanya, Saksham

feels a lot better not is a bit encouraged. When he returns to the
class…..
Shivanshu: how did it go with the counsellor?
Saksham: It was good. She gave me advice on how to deal with stress
and not let what others say affect me.
Shivanshu: That’s great to hear. You know, you shouldn’t let those
idiots get the better of you.
Saksham: Yeah, I am starting to realise that. Thanks for always being
there for me, Shivanshu.
Shivanshu: Chill, that’s what friends are for.

SCENE 7

Narrator: As the days pass Saksham is able to build self-confidence

and cope up with stress thanks to the regular sessions with the
counsellor. Meanwhile Nitya was constantly bullied by Hemanth and
Pragati. However, Sampada informed about these incidents to the
counsellor who then talked to Nitya and soon Nitya also started
sessions along with Saksham. One day, as they were headed back to
class…..
Hemanth: Hey Saksham, heard you have been hanging out with the
counsellor. Having trouble with your grades again?
Thanmayi: the always sad Nitya also tagging along huh? Need any
extra help?
Saksham: Actually, I’m doing just fine. I’ve realised that I don’t need
to compare myself to you. I am steadily improving at my pace
Thanmayi: looks like someone is full of confidence
Hemanth: We’ll see how long that lasts.
Nitya: You guys do realise that by putting others down and making
themselves feel bad about themselves isn’t funny.
Hemanth: hey, its not that deep, chill
Nitya: Jokes that hurt others negatively aren’t jokes at all, do you
realise how much negativity we have faced just because your
comments.
Thanmayi: We thought that it was not a big deal and that everybody
took it light heartedly
Counsellor: Since you have realised your mistake, you do know what
to do
Hemanth and Pragati together: we are really sorry.
Hemanth: we didn’t think it would affect someone so badly
Thanmayi: yeah, we would do anything to repent
Counsellor: you both are not walking away with a mere apology, you
both are going to be suspended for 2 weeks because of improper
behaviour with your classmates
Hemanth: we accept the punishment mam.
Thanmayi: and this wont happen again.
Hemanth: Saksham, look forward to the best versions of ourselves
when we return

Narrator: In a world where silence breeds suffering, it is in our voices

that hope finds its strength. Together, we can break the cycle of
bullying and build a community where everyone feels safe and
valued. This skit emphasizes the effects of bullying on individuals, the
importance of speaking up against it, and the role of empathy and
support in fostering a positive school environment. It showcases how
victims can find strength and how bullies can learn and change with
intervention and understanding.
On behalf of my team, I thank Principal mam and my teachers and
special thanks to our counsellor mam who guided us for this
performance, thank you for providing this wonderful opportunity to
showcase our talents as well as convey this message to all the
students.
