OCCURS IN SCENARIOS SUCH AS INCOMING CALLS, CALL FORWARDING, OR TRIGGERED
SERVICES (E.G., VOICEMAIL OR DATA NOTIFICATIONS).
Types of Hand-offs:
Hard Handoff: Connection to the old base station
is dropped before a new one is established.
Soft Handoff: Mobile unit connects to both old and
new base stations simultaneously for a smoother
transition.
