BIOLOGY(practicals)

1.TEST FOOD FOR STARCH

1.MATERIALS
_Food stuff like (Bread)
_Iodine solution
_test tube

2.PROCEDUCERS
_Crush the stuff to small particles
_Put the food into a Test tube
_We had two drops of Iodine solution

EXPECTED RESUITS
_If the mixture turns into Blue Black it means there is
starch.
_If the mixture remains Brown.
_It indicate to absence

END....!!!!!!

2.TEST FOR LIPIDS


MATERIALS
_Food stuff (G/nuts)
_Translucent paper

PROCEDURES
_Rub the food stuff against the paper

EXPECTED RESUITS
_Greasy spot indicates the presences of lipids

END.....!!!!!

3.TEST FOR PROTEIN'S

MATERIALS
_Food stuff
_test tube
_sodium hydroxide
_copper sulphate

PROCEDURES
1.Crush the food into the fine particles.
2.Put them into test tube.
4.Add two drops sodium hydroxide ( Na OH)
5.Add two drops of copper sulphate

EXPECTED RESUITS
It mixture turns purple to show prosensce of protein's.

_leaf
_Iodine solution
_ alcohol
_warm water
_Boiled water
