General Instructions:
(i) All questions are compulsory.

(ii) The question paper consists of 30 questions divided into four sections A, B, C and D.

(iii) Section A contains 6 questions of 1 mark each. Section B contains 6 questions of 2


marks each. Section C contains 10 questions of 3 marks each. Section D contains 8
questions of 4 marks each.

(iv) There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in four
questions of 3 marks each and three questions of 4 marks each. You have to attempt
only one of the alternatives in all such questions.

(v) Use of calculators is not permitted.

SECTION A (6 x 1 = 6 marks)

7. Find the points where the graph of the equation 3x + 2y – 9 = 0 cuts the x-axis and the y-axis.

8. Solve the equation x + 4 = 10 and state the Euclid’s axiom used.

9 In the figure, ABCD is a square and P is the midpoint of AD. BP and


CP are joined. Prove that ∠PCB = ∠PBC.

10. If an angle of a parallelogram is two third of its adjacent angle, find the smallest angle of the
parallelogram.

11. Find the volume of a cube whose lateral surface area is 196 𝑚2 .

12. Find the median of first 11 multiples of 3.

(ii) Find the co-ordinates of the point which lies on x and y-axes, both.
(iii) Writ the coordinates of a point lying on y axis but not x axis.

17. In the figure below, AB || CD and l is a transversal. Find the values of x and y.

18. Prove that the quadrilateral formed by joining the mid-points of the consecutive sides of a rectangle is a
rhombus.

19. Two equal chords AB and CD of a circle with centre O, when produced meet at a point E as shown in
fig 1. Prove that BE = DE and AE = CE.

In fig 2, PQ is a diameter of a circle with centre O. If ∠PQR = 65° ∠SPR = 40° , find ∠QPR, ∠PRS, and

20. Construct a triangle whose base is 6 cm and the sum of the other two sides is 10 cm and one base angle
is 30°.

21. Find the area of a rhombus whose sides are 20 cm each and one of its diagonals is 24 cm.

22. A conical tent is 10 m high and its base radius is 24 m. Find


(i) the slant height of thetent .
(ii) the cost of canvas required to make the tent, if the cost of 1 𝑚2 of canvas Rs 70.

27. ABCD is a rectangle. E, F, G and H are mid-point of sides AB, BC, CD and DA, respectively. If
ar(EFGH) = 16 c𝑚2 , find ar (ABCD). Give necessary steps for justification.

28. A teak wood log is in the form of a cuboid of length 2.3 m, width 75 cm and of certain thickness. Its
volume is 1.104 𝑚3 . How many rectangular planks of size 2.3 m × 75 cm × 4 cm can be cut from the
cuboid?
OR
On a hot summer day, Kamala set- up a stall, near her house in the village under the shade of a tree. She
took cold water in a completely full spherical matka (an earthen pot) of radius 39 cm and serve this to
thirsty people passing by in cylindrical glasses each of radius 4 cm and height 13 cm.
(i) If she fills up to three- fourths of its height with water, find the number of people she can
give water to.
(ii) What values are exhibited by Kamala?

29. Construct a histogram and a frequency polygon on the same graph for the following frequency
distribution.

30. On a busy road, following data was observed about cars passing through it and number of occupants:
