Lead Questions:
1. What do you know about the curriculum that is taught in this school?

Teacher's Response: The curriculum at this school follows the K-12 education
system. It covers core subjects such as Math, Science, English and Filipino. For
senior high school, we also have specialized tracks, such as STEM, Humanities,
and Technical-Vocational. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for
both higher education and work.

Parent's Response: I know that the school follows the K-12 system, which
focuses on developing not only academic knowledge but also skills for
employment or further education. My child is in the Senior High School
Humanities track, which I believe prepares her well for college.
2. Are you involved in the activities in the school? How?

Teacher's Response: Yes, I am actively involved in school activities. As a

Filipino teacher, I also serve as an adviser for a literary club. We teach local
poetry, stories, and dramas. I also participate in seminars and workshops to
improve my teaching practices and help with school projects.

Parent's Response: Yes, I am involved in parent-teacher meetings and

sometimes help organize school events like the foundation day and fundraising
activities for school projects.

3. Why do you get involved in the school activities?

Teacher's Response: It is important to me to be involved in school activities

because I see it as an opportunity to expand students' learning beyond the
classroom. These activities give them a chance to showcase their talents.

Parent's Response: I get involved because I want to support my child’s

education. Being active in school activities allows me to stay informed about her
progress and the programs available to enhance her learning experience.

4. Do the activities contribute to the learning achievement of the students?

Teacher's Response: Yes, these activities significantly contribute to the

students' learning development. Extracurricular activities such as poetry
recitations, drama plays, and workshops broaden their knowledge in subjects like
Filipino. These also help build their self-confidence and broaden their
perspectives on life.

Parent's Response: Yes, the activities contribute significantly to student

learning. For example, school plays and literary contests enhance their
knowledge in subjects like Filipino. It is also important for students to have
opportunities to showcase their talents and skills.
5. What is your most important involvement that contributed to the learning of the
students? Give a specific example.

Teacher's Response: As an adviser of the Filipino club, I helped students join

regional competitions in poetry and writing. One of my students won a poetry
contest, and that success helped deepen their knowledge and love for the
Filipino language.

Parent's Response: My involvement in the PTA and school events has allowed
me to advocate for my child’s needs and contribute to the school’s decision-
making processes. For example, I was part of the team that helped organize a
career day event, which helped students explore different professions and
connect with professionals from various fields.

6. Would you like to continue what you are doing for the school curriculum? Why?

Teacher's Response: Yes, I would. Helping students in both academic and

extracurricular settings has been fulfilling. These activities are an important part
of the curriculum because they allow students to explore their passions and
interests, which is essential for their overall development. As a teacher, I see
how much students benefit from learning their language and culture. If I continue,
I believe more students will become successful in their chosen fields.

Parent’s Response: Yes, I would like to continue supporting the school

curriculum. I believe that with the effort of the teachers, parents, and students,
the implementation of the curriculum will be more successful, and it will have a
positive impact on the education of our youth.
Question for Reflection:
If all the stakeholders contribute positively to curriculum implementation, do you
think curriculum change or development will succeed? Why? or why not?

Yes, I believe curriculum change or development will succeed if all the

stakeholders contribute positively. Teachers, parents, students, and the
community all have unique roles that can significantly impact the overall learning
process. When all parties work together, they create a well-rounded and supportive
environment for students. Teachers are the ones who implement the curriculum
directly, but parents and the community can support this by reinforcing the learning
outside the classroom. Students, too, play a vital role in actively participating and
applying what they learn.

For instance, if parents understand the goals of the curriculum, they can help
students grasp concepts better by providing additional support at home. The
involvement of the community, such as local businesses or organizations, can also
create more opportunities for students to learn and apply real-world skills. In this
way, a strong partnership between all stakeholders can help ensure that the
curriculum is effective, and its development is successful.
