The Pixel 6 is a phone that checks almost every box, but does it go the extra

mile and include unlimited Google Photos storage? A Pixel-exclusive


feature that's stood out as one of the greats is unlimited Google Photos
storage. Starting with the original Pixel in 2016, Google started offering
free unlimited photo and video backups to its Google Photos cloud service.
All of these backups were in their original quality, too, meaning all of those
precious memories were backed up in the highest resolution possible — all
for free just for having a Pixel.

That's what makes this next part so unfortunate. Neither the Pixel 6 nor the
Pixel 6 Pro have free Google Photos storage at all. Google changed this
policy starting with Pixels released after the Pixel 5. While older Pixel
phones still benefit from unlimited backups at a lower resolution, no such
perks exist for the Pixel 6 series Instead, any photos/videos uploaded to
Google Photos from the phones count toward the user's Google account
storage limit.
