OC Speech: Hades

Greetings members of the Olympic Council, I am Hades the god of the underworld brother of
Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, and Hestia. Unfortunately when my siblings and I were born Cronus our father
swallowed us whole fearing a prophecy. But luckily Zeus somehow was hidden from Cronus and was able
to defeat him, freeing us. When mortals pass they lay a coin on their tongue hoping to proceed into the
UNDERWORLD. Passing the river through the gates guarded by my three headed dog to make sure no
one alive goes into the underworld. There are three parts of the underworld: Elysium, a paradise for the
good or Hero’s : Tartarus, a black pit for the bad where you get tortured for eternity: and the Asphodel
Meadows which is for the individuals in between good and bad. I wonder where that guy Cronus is. I
heard he’s in Tartarus. There are many myths about me such as when I had abducted Persephone,
daughter of Demeter, goddess of agriculture and harvest. One legend describes when Demeter and her
daughter were tending to the earth. I emerged from the ground in my chariot, snatching Persephone,
dragging her into my Chariot and plunging back into the deep hole back into the underworld. Demeter
was devastated, looking for Persephone all day and night calling for her and asking for her. When
Demeter found out I had taken Persephone she demanded justice to Zeus or else no crops would grow
till Persephone came back to Demeter. Zeus warned Demeter that any food that passes through her lips
during her sojourn in Tartarus will be how long she stayed there. Demeter hoped that Persephone
wouldn’t eat anything. But luckily for me she ate 6 pomegranate seeds which meant she had to stay in
the underworld for 6 months every year. I eventually married Persephone Ok Ok I know it’s weird that I
basically married my niece but why not. I blame cupid. It’s important to have respect from everyone.
Unfortunately for me I now lack respect from Demeter because I kidnapped her daughter which also
plays a part in integrity having strong morals as well.
