CONTENT STANDARD : 10.1 Construction of basic shape blocks
LEARNING STANDARD: 10.1.1 Identify the basic shapes i.e. triangle, square, rectangle and circle.
10.1.5 Explian observations about the object built using sketches, ICT, writing or verbally.
LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Pupils are able to:
1. State the basic shape i.e triangle, square, rectangle and circle.
2. Explian observations about the object built using sketches, ICT, writing or verbally.
SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. Pupils will be able to state 4 basic shapes correctly.
TEACHING : Activity 1. Pupils watch the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dBWUqmblk about the basic shapes.
ACTIVITIES : 1 2. The pupils sang along to the music in the video.
3. Pupils respond to teacher question by stating the basic shape that show in the video.
4. Pupils will complete the bubble map sheet (basic shapes) with the guidance of the teacher and
paste in on the exercise book.
: Activity 1. Pupils are divided into 5 groups to create “ Shape Book”
2 2. Each group will be given tools and materials. (scissors, white paper, marker pen, glue, catalog,
magazine, newspaper)
3. White A4 paper is divided into 4 section and labelled with the basic shape names.
4. Picture of objecks that have a basic shape will be cut out by the pupils and paste to the basic
shape labelled on A4 paper.
5. All pupils will see and evaluate the work of the other group.
6. All group work will be presented in front of the class.
: Activity 1. Pupils answer the questions in the activity book related to the topic they have learned.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Pupils are able to:
1. Identify to block i.e. cube, cuboid, pyramid, prism,cone, cylinder and sphere.
SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. Pupils will be able to identify 5 basic shape block correctly.
TEACHING : Activity 1. Pupils are required to stand and sing “Block Song” https://www.youtube.com/watch?
ACTIVITIES : 1 v=GzadMAR16SM
2. Whwn singing the “Block Song” pupils need to identify what the shape of the basic shape block
is in the lyric.
3. Pupils will be given a bubble map sheet to complete as the video plays.
4. Pupils who successfully draw and label correctly will be considered winners.
: Activity 1. Pupils are divided into 5 groups. (Gallery Walk)
2 2. Each group will be given A4 paper, and plasticine.
3. Pupils have to draw 7 basic shapes block on A4 paper and label them. (Teacher need to provide
examples of completed drawing for each group as a student guide)
4. After drawing, pupils are required to form plasticine into 8 basic shapes blocks and place it on a
labelled paper.
5. Each group will move to another group to evaluate the work of their other friends.
6. Star sticker will be given by other groups if they are satisfied with the basic shapes block their
friends are making.
7. The group with the most stickers counted as the winner.
: Activity Pupils answer the questions in the activity book related to the topic they have learned.

LEARNING OBJECTIVE: Pupils are able to:
1. Identify the basic shapes blocks i.e. cube, cuboid, pyramid, prism, cone, cylinder and sphere.
2. Design an object or structure using basic shape blocks.
SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. Pupils will be able to create robot by using basic shape block.
TEACHING : Activity 1. Pupils are divided into 5 groups to play “snap” games.
ACTIVITIES : 1 2. Each group will given a “snap” card containing a pictures of 8 basic shapes block and
8 basic shapes block names.
3. The number of players in this game is 2, 3 and 4 only.
4. The player must place the picture card or word card at the same time. One member of the
group will act as a referee.
5. If the picture card and word card placed by the player have the correct match, the player
who put his hand first and mentions the “snap” will take the card.
6. If all card is not matched then all card retrieved by the player.
7. The winner of this game depends on the number of cards that the player has obtained.
: Activity 1. Each group will be given pensel, white paper and plasticine. (T
2 2. Pupils draw the robot design on white paper based on the example of the sketches the
teacher has given.
3. Pupils will form blocks of basic shape using plasticine.
4. Once the basic shapes block has been completed, the pupil combined the block into robots.
5. Pupils work will be placed on the table for assessment.

1. Provide reasoning on the importance of various types of blocks in daily life
SUCCESS CRITERIA: 1. Pupils will be able to state 3 importance of various types of blocks in daily life.
TEACHING : Activity 1. The teacher chooses the pupils to kick the paper ball of different shapes.
ACTIVITIES : 1 2. Pupils need to observe the ball rolling when kicked.
3. Pupils will respond to the teacher’s question : “ Which shapes of ball is easier to roll forward?
Why?
: Activity 1. The teacher will explain the 2 important of different types of block shape in daily life.
2 2. Pupils will note the importance of the basic shapes block in the bubble map sheet provided
by the teacher.
3. Pupils identify the basic shape and the basic shape block of ach object that found aroud them
as a revise activity.
