WEEKLY COURSE MAP

Course Description: This course is based on the practise of four skills in the target language. Depending on a variety of topics presented in each unit, students
also develop their knowledge of vocabulary and grammar in accordance with the level expectations. During the course, students engage with various activities
including group or pair works, communicative activities and games. An international course book with a workbook, additional worksheets and booklets
designed by the institution instructors are utilised to help students use and practice the target language.

Course Length: 8 Weeks – 4 hours a day

LEVEL 1 WEEK 1 – 18 th – 22nd November

Listening Can understand simple greetings and names (6), simple personal information (6), numbers in simple contexts (7,9), the names of countries,
nationalities, cities, languages, and currencies (8), simple words and phrases (11).
Can follow speech that is very slow and carefully articulated, with long pauses for him/her to assimilate meaning (6,7, 8, 9, 10,11,12,13).
Reading Can understand simple words and phrases (6), understand simple personal information (6)

Speaking Can use social English phrases (6), pronouns and contractions (6), correct pronunciation (7,9,10).

Can interact in a simple way but communication is totally dependent on repetition at a slower rate of speech, rephrasing and repair. Can ask and
answer simple questions, initiate and respond to simple statements in areas of immediate need or on very familiar topics (9, 102, 108).
Can get an idea of the content of simpler informational material and short simple descriptions, especially if there is visual support (102,108).
Writing Can write simple isolated phrases and sentences (11),
Can complete simple charts (11),
Can write sentences using contractions and pronouns (9), numbers up to 100 (9), the names of objects in a picture (10).
Language Can show only limited control of a few simple grammatical structures and sentence patterns in a learnt repertoire (7,9,15,16).
