Remote Working Checklist

Based on the workstation/area set up images and your environment, review the following:

Workstation/Area Set Up – Desk

 There is enough space for all the documents I work with

 There a suitable holder for the documents I look at most frequently
 There is enough light to read the documents
 There is minimal glare from windows or lights (I can block out glare with blinds or curtains)
 My monitor (laptop or computer screen) is:
 easy to read (not dull or affected by sunlight)
 at a comfortable viewing distance (Directly in front of me, approx. arm’s length
from my seated location and approx. at eye level (top line of text) to enable my
neck to remain in a neutral position.
 Set-up with text large enough and in sharp focus for my eyes
 My keyboard is located centrally and within easy reach
 My mouse is located close by (within easy reach next to the keyboard)
 There is enough clear space under the desk for my legs (my feet can be flat on the ground
(or a footrest) whilst my thighs are at approximately 90 degrees)
 I have access to headphones (including a microphone) so I am not holding my phone
between my shoulder and ear

Workstation/Area Set Up - Chair

 I have a chair which allows me to:

 Sit upright
 Have relaxed shoulders
 Have elbows slightly above work surface when typing
 Not wobble, tip, give way or easily roll around
 The back rest of my chair firmly supports my back (lumbar support either within the chair
or using a pillow at the appropriate height)

Workstation/Area Set Up – Access & Movement

 There is enough room to get in and out of my work area easily

 The walkways are clear and uncluttered
 The area is free of trailing cords
 The floor is free of hazards (No holes, bumps, loose edges)
 Stairs (if applicable) are free from tripping hazards
 The exits are accessible (not blocked)

General
1
 The air temperature is comfortable and free from draughts
 The air is fresh and free of odours and fumes
 The noise level does not make my work more difficult or distract me
 My workstation is free from double adaptors
 My electrical cords are free from damage and secured out of areas where they may
present a hazard
 The smoke alarm is up to date and works

*We also trust that other serious stuff like safety switches, first aid kits, fire extinguishers/
blankets and the appropriate storage of hazardous chemicals form part of your remote working
environment.

Game Play

I am committed to:
 Keeping my personal details (including emergency contact details) up to date in the HR
System
 Taking regular breaks (i.e. standing at least once per hour)
 Keeping my wrists upright while typing and making sure they are not supported on any
surface while typing
 Having a sitting posture that is upright or slightly reclined, maintaining slight hollow in my
lower back
 Using my hand to hold a phone or wearing a headset (no cradling)
 Breaking up long periods of continuous computer use by performing other tasks
 Establishing boundaries around my work hours
 Scheduling regular meetings and catch ups with my Leader and team to help maintain
ongoing contact and foster positive working relationships
 Staying connected via phone, email and online to keep across latest developments with
work, my team and Sportsbet
 Using outdoor spaces where possible when I take breaks and trying to incorporate some
exercise or other activity as part of my working day
 Playing music or listening to the radio to create a harmonious working environment
 Identifying any potential distractions and putting strategies in place to minimise them
 Making an agreement about a reasonable communication system between me and my

exacerbated or influenced by working remotely.
