Focus of the lesson:

Linguistic: Grammar: simple past vs present perfect

Objective(s) of the lesson:

To familiarize students with the main use of the simple past and the present perfect.

Students’ previous Knowledge:

Learners have seen and practiced both tenses before (simple past and present perfect)

Students already know the structure of both target tenses (simple past and present perfect)

Learners know common simple past and present perfect time expressions but in this class they will learn to differentiate them better.

Anticipated problems and possible solutions:

AP: Teacher might have difficulty in placing students in breakout rooms to do the final productive activity.

PS: teacher will assign the couples and ask them to finish first the activity on their own and then share the answers with the rest of the group in
the main session.
