Mechanics for Science Quiz Bee

1. Format: The quiz bee will consist of three rounds: Easy, Average, and Difficult. Questions will cover
various science topics, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, and
environmental science.

2. Question Distribution:
A. Easy Round: 5 questions (2 pts. each)
B. Average Round: 5 questions (3 pts each)
C. Difficult Round: 5 questions (5 pts each)
D. Time breaker (if there is tie score or pts.)

3. Procedure: Each participant will be provided with an answer sheet. Participants will write their
answers within the time limit
A. Easy round: 10 seconds per question
B. Average round: 15 seconds per questions
C. Difficult round: 20 seconds per questions

4. Scoring: Correct answers will earn points as indicated above. No points will be deducted for wrong
answers. In case of a tie, a clincher round will be conducted with additional questions until the tie is
broken.

5.Time Limit: Each question will have a time limit to ensure fair pacing. The quizmaster will announce
when time is up.

6. Disputes: Any disputes or challenges to answers must be raised immediately after the question. The
decision of the judges or organizers will be final.

7. Awards and Recognition: Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 participants/teams (e.g., champion, 1st
runner-up, 2nd runner-up). Certificates of participation will be given to all participants.

8. Rules of Conduct: Participants must maintain decorum and sportsmanship at all times. Any form of
cheating will result in immediate disqualification.
