CE5111 – BIM IN SUSTAINABLE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION (BIM_SDC) (3 Credits)

Semester I Academic Year 2022 - 2023

Course Background:
This course will cover the basic concepts in building information modelling (BIM) with a focus
on sustainable design and construction projects. Understanding, analyzing and applying the
concepts of BIM is essential in every modern construction project. The course is relevant to

consultants who are part of the construction project management will also benefit from the
concepts covered in the course. In this regard, designed following are the objectives of the
course :
1. Study the role of BIM in sustainable building design and construction.
2. Apply BIM approach in construction Planning, Control and Operations.
3. Demonstrate the use of BIM as a communication tool for decision making among
Stakeholders.
4. Apply BIM in sustainable building design and construction practices and perfrom case
studies.
