Hanoi University of Science and Technology continues to affirm quality of

training through Accreditation

In the context of globalization, countries compete not only in terms of economy

and services but also in education. This has posed a vitual requirement for
educational institutions to establish their position, affirm their reputation, and
integrate into the global education system.

In recent years, quality assurance and accreditation in higher education have

received significant attention from the education sector. This stems from the
needs of human resource training to serve the country's socio-economic
development and the demands of international integration.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), in the past two
years, the number of higher education programs and institutions achieving both
domestic and international accreditation has increased significantly. Specifically,
in terms of HE quality assurance, the number of HE institutions registering for
external evaluation has rapidly increased. As of June 30, 2018, five HE
institutions have been recognized according to the evaluation standards of the
French High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES):
Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Hanoi University of Civil
Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Da Nang University of
Technology, and Ton Duc Thang University.

It can be said that the activity of quality assurance at the institutional level in
Vietnam has made significant strides. The MoET has issued a plan for quality
assurance with the goal of having all universities nationwide accredited by 2020
to ensure sustainable HE development. Accreditation results are used as a basis
for determining the quality, position, reputation, autonomy, and accountability of
HE institutions in general and Hanoi University of Science and Technology in
particular.
