Maintaining public libraries is a waste of money since computer
technology can replace their functions. Do you agree or disagree?
In the modern technological era, digital marketing is the most
developing field in the world. Maintaining public libraries is a hotly-debated topic that often divides opinion. I reckon computer technology gives us more opportunities to different kinds of information. I will discuss some arguments and support them with proper examples. There are more advantages to online libraries than public libraries. First, online libraries save people’s time management. It is so convenient, because you are able to process a lot of information in a short time. In particular, people, who are in high places have been very busy going outside, so online libraries are a fantastic possibility for them. Second, it should be noted, that online libraries have more functions. For instance, you cannot only read a book, but also listen, while you are travelling or walking. You have access to any sort of information whenever you want. Generally, public libraries are situated in a specific location. It is open for a certain period of time, so access is not always available. However, since ancient time, public libraries have been considered one of the gathering places for high society. Besides of the beautiful environment, you can meet new people here. In some countries public libraries are considered the main attractions of the city. Therefore, maintaining public libraries is not a waste of money. It is a valuable place for most tourists. To sum up, despite the benefits of online libraries, I think maintaining public libraries is a good idea to attract tourists. Ultimately, this will contribute to the development of tourism and the country’s economy.
