A Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan in Physical Education

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:

a. identify appropriate games and activities tailored to the developmental needs and
skills of students across various grade levels;
b. elaborate on how suggested games and activities align with the physical education
curriculum for each grade level and quarter; and
c. demonstrate the ability to select and implement age-appropriate games that promote
physical fitness, teamwork, and enjoyment in PE classes.

B. SpringBoard

Guess The Word. The class will be grouped into two. The teacher will show
two pictures, and each group will guess what words the pictures formed. The
group that has most of the score will receive a prize.
C. Lesson Proper

a. Presentation of the Lesson


After the game, the teacher will guide the students through a
series of questions designed to help them know what the lesson is all
about.

1. What can you observe from the game we play?


2. Can the games that you have guessed be played inside or outside the
classroom?
3. Based on the game we played, what do you think our topic is all about?

b. Development of the Lesson


The teachers will discuss the Suggested Games and Activities for
Different Grade Levels and Quarters. They will explain the suitable
games and activities for each grade level and how suggested games and
activities align with the physical education curriculum for each grade
level and quarter.

D. Enrichment Activities

Mystery Match-Up: PE Edition


In this activity, the class will be divided into 5 pairs. Each pair will pick a
mystery item provided by the teacher, based on common materials used for the
activities and games based on the topic discussed. Each pair must relate it to a
specific PE game or activity that is appropriate for a particular grade level and
quarter. They will demonstrate how the activity or game works, explain how the
item is used in the activity and how it promotes skills like teamwork,
coordination, or physical fitness. After 10 minutes of preparation, each pair will
present their activity to the class.

E. Generalization
After 60 minutes of discussion, the teacher will ask the following questions:
Guiding Questions:
1. What are the appropriate games for each grade? Can you enumerate it?
2. Why do you think it’s important to choose appropriate activities for each grade
level?
3. What happens if activities don’t match the students’ skills and abilities?

V. AGREEMENT
Make a 3-5 minute video demonstrating a PE activity for a chosen grade level.
Introduce the game, explain its purpose, and show how it’s played with anyone who lives
with you (parents, siblings, cousins, etc.) participating. Ensure clear visuals and submit the
video by next week. Grading will be based on clarity, appropriateness, and creativity.
