Our Advanced Diploma provides an immersive training experience that strengthens your acting skills and helps you develop an intimate connection with
audiences using Film & TV as a medium.

The academic design across the year follows a multidisciplinary teaching practice that helps actors deepen their understanding of various worldly acting
techniques as well as science of body movement, voice and creative thinking practices, and apply such learning to deliver impactful performances in front of
the camera.

This multi-semester, one year programme is suitable for individuals with prior acting experience either in professional/amateur work, or through participation
in prior acting workshops or short courses. It requires the individual to follow a meticulous audition and interview process, and admits focused & talented
individuals capable of transformation and grooms them to deliver their craft at the highest professional level.

TERM 1 COURSE DETAILS
The first semester of the programme focuses on self–exploration,
helping actors accept and connect with themselves. The actors will
be encouraged to let go of all inhibitions, build confidence, develop
creativity and condition themselves to have the necessary
intellectual, physical, and emotional readiness cultivating the
mind-set of a performer.

TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS:

• SELF AWARENESS: To build a strong sense of identity and


purpose, which eventually translates into confident

• OVERCOMING INHIBITIONS: Learning techniques to let go of
fears, shed Inhibitions and become comfortable in their own skin.

TERM 2 COURSE DETAILS
In the second semester, actors will delve into learning the craft of
acting by drawing inspiration from traditional and contemporary
techniques, real-life experiences and their surroundings. Actors will
be guided to identify their individual unique process to create
engaging performances with complex characters and emotional
depth.

TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS:

• MOVEMENT TECHNIQUES: Learning how physicality,


mannerisms and movements, rhythm & timing can define a
character.
• VOCAL EXPRESSION: Exploring vocal variety to learn voice
characterization, and enhance emotional inflection.
• LEARNING THE CRAFT: Exploring various acting techniques such
as Stanislavsky, Meisner, and Method, to eventually identify the
most suitable approach for a given script.
• EMOTIONAL DEPTH: Expanding an actor’s emotional range
through techniques involving emotional memory and sense
memory, that enable actors to connect more profoundly with
their characters.
• CHARACTERISATION: Delving into various aspects of
understanding a character including the character's backstory,
relationships and motivation.
• SCENE STUDY: Gaining deeper understanding on how to
approach and analyze scripts, apply the techniques learnt and
practice the craft with multiple scenes across various genres.

TERM 3 COURSE DETAILS
The third semester involves the actors in a stage production that
allows them to apply their understanding of the craft, with a
disciplined approach to hone their performance skills. This theatre
training contributes to the actor’s sustainable growth as a performer
that translates seamlessly to onscreen performances.

TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS:

• CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT: Applying the understanding of


characterisation from the preceding semester, actors will now
learn to fully immerse themselves in the process of developing
and portraying multi-dimensional characters with conviction.
• DISCIPLINE & COMMITMENT: Performing for a theatre
production teaches an actor the importance of discipline and
dedication in creating a cohesive and a successful performance.
Actors also learn the importance of accountability,
communication and teamwork; skills that contribute in making
the actor a well-rounded professional.
• DEVELOPING PRESENCE: Actors learn how to command the
stage with confidence, engage with audience, sustain energy and
focus throughout a performance.

TERM 4 COURSE DETAILS
The final semester of this programme is dedicated to learning the
nuances of screen acting. This semester concludes the program with
a production where actors engage in practical experiences to learn
the professional dynamics and expectations of the film and television
industry.

TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS:

• CAMERA PROFICIENCY: Mastering the technical aspects of


working with camera that includes camera angles, blocking,
lighting, pacing, continuity and conveying emotions effectively
on screen.
• VOICE ACTING: Exploring how to convey emotions solely
through voice and enhance vocal control for sustaining character
voices. Actors will also gain an understanding of dubbing and
sync-sound for on-screen performances.
• LEARNING ON-SET PROTOCOLS: Actors immerse themselves in
the collaborative aspects of working on a set, learning to follow
directors' instructions and set etiquettes.
