Project:

Automated Bike Rental System


This project aims to develop a user-friendly, secure, and efficient automated bike rental
system. The system will allow users to locate, reserve, and unlock bicycles seamlessly
using a mobile app. Additionally, it will provide functionalities for managing bike
inventory, tracking rentals, and generating reports.

Stakeholders (and their Interests):


1. Cyclists (Users):
 Interest: Easy access to bicycles, convenient booking and unlocking, affordable
rental fees, reliable service, and a safe cycling experience.
 Needs: User-friendly mobile app, diverse bike options, clear pricing structure,
secure payment methods, real-time bike availability and location information,
efficient customer support.

2. City Administration/Transportation Department:


 Interest: Promote cycling as a sustainable transportation mode, reduce traffic
congestion, improve public health, collect data for urban planning purposes.
 Needs: Integration with city infrastructure, data on usage patterns, system
performance and reliability reports, options for managing designated bike lanes
and parking zones.
3. Bike Rental Company (System Owner):
 Interest: Increase revenue and profitability, optimize bike utilization, minimize
maintenance costs, ensure system security and data privacy.
 Needs: Scalable and reliable system architecture, robust payment processing,
real-time bike tracking and condition monitoring, user and bike management
tools, analytics dashboards.
4. Software Developers:
 Interest: Create a well-designed, secure, and maintainable software system that
meets user and business requirements.
 Needs: Clear project specifications, access to development tools and resources,
ongoing communication with stakeholders.
5. System Administrators/Operations Team:
