Kami Export - HP_ Solving Systems #1 (1)
Directions: Solve the systems by graphing. You must graph each system by hand. Name the solution.
−5
1. y = 3 x+3 m= b= 2. y = 4x + 3 m= b= 3. y = -1 m= b=
1 −5
y= 3x-3 m= b= y = -x - 2 m= b= y= 2 x + 4 m= b=
4. y = -2x + 2 m= b= 5. 3x - y = 2 m= b= 6. x + y = 10 m= b=
y = -2x - 2 m= b= 4x + 9y = 36 m= b= 2x - y = 5 m= b=
7. Without even graphing number 4, how could you have figured out the answer? And why? Justify
your answer.
well for starters I couldn't, but now looking at them i notice that the slope is
the same which makes them parallel, and parallel automatically means no
solution.
Directions: Find the solution to the systems of equations by substitution.
8. y = 3x +2 9. x - 2y = -6
x + 2y = 11 4x + 6y = 4
10. 3x - 5y = 11 11. c - 5d = 2
x = 3y + 1 2c + d = 4
Distributive Practice:
11. Discuss the differences between the graphs g(x) = -f(x) and h(x) = f(-x), if the parent function is f(x) = x.
while both g(x)=-f(x) and h(x)=f(-x) produce the same function -x, when the parent function is f(x)=x,g(x) represents a reflection across the x
axis, and h(x)represents a reflection across the y-axis.
