GUIDELINES

SPECIAL AWARDS FOR STUDENTS

Special Recognition

a) Who are recipients of National/International, Educational/Professional Awards and/or


awarded Study Grants after undergoing rigid competitive/qualifying examination.

b) Who have the distinction of being selected as representative/delegate/delegations to attend


prestigious National/International gatherings, assemblies, conferences, exhibitions, etc. by
accredited/re-known, National/International bodies and organizations.

Student Awards – are given to individual student or group of students who have
demonstrated high levels academic performance and outstanding achievement. The
following are the awards given:

A. For Academic Excellence – Tertiary Level


University Scholars
College Scholars
Dean’s List Scholars
Special Scholars

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

THE MERITORIOUS SERVICE AWARD – is given to individuals/students/group of student


who have rendered consistent, exemplary and genuine leadership, voluntary services to the
university in various capacities: the completion of a special project or program; or demonstrated
a commitment toward helping the university achieve its stated mission and goals. This person
must embody the University’s mission to learn, lead and serve.

CRITERIA

a.) The Nominee must be currently serving as the functional leader (i.e. chairman, president, vice
president, etc.) of in-campus student organizations or a philanthropic or humanitarian
organization or consortium of associations.

b.) The Nominee must have achieved a significant milestone or have made a significant
contribution to the advancement of the organization/association at the local and or national levels
of which he/she serves as the functional leader.

c.) The Nominee must have developed and/or managed programs/projects leading to greater
awareness and promotion of the mission and goals of the University.
d.) The Nominee must have promoted and modeled strong collaboration and coordination among
appropriate private and public sector groups/organizations for the improvement of education.
