Welcome to The Art of

Lords of the Fallen

Greetings, Dark Crusader,

I am honoured, on behalf of the whole HEXWORKS Team, to

welcome you to the official Artbook of The Lords of the Fallen,
exclusive to the Collector’s Edition.

During the long journey of crafting this dark fantasy game, I think
the joke I told the most whenever introducing myself:

« I’m just the guy adding more blood, candles and skulls! »

But was it really a joke . .?

From the bloody battles of Miura’s Berserk to the cosmic giant

skeletons of Beksinski, through the organic structures of Giger to the
intimate horror of Sagazan, we wandered in the dark inspirations of
our masters, gathering the tools to build our own realm.

I have been blessed to work with such an incredible Art Team, and
it is their work that shines through the pages of the book you are
holding in your hands. A world of grotesque creatures, snarling
demons and proudly rusted knights.

Now, looking back on all the art we produced – and believe me, this
is the tip of a (monstrous) iceberg – I am speechless in front of so
much dedication, passion and hardwork.

And to think, all this to simply live out one of my secret goals: to
flesh out the subtle beauty of nightmares. While playing the game,
if you shiver at least once in front of an epic encounter or a cosmic
horror figure, then I will consider it all worth it.

Thank you for giving us a purpose to continue doing what we love

everyday. So. . . put on your best armour, sharpen your best blade,
and I wish you one hell of a ride through our two-sided world.

Oh, and don’t forget to pack a skull, a chalice of blood, and at least
a dozen candles!

In darkness we walk.

Alex Chaudret, Art Director
