English Paper Pattern – Half Yearly Assessment (1 hour 30 minutes)
Total Marks – 80 consists of the following.

Section A: English Grammar – 50 marks approximately


Based on the topics for the Half Yearly Assessment and practised through worksheets.
Capital letters, full stops or question marks, nouns, verbs, vocabulary - antonyms, gender,
homophones, singular/plural, etc.

Section B: English Literature – 30 marks approximately


Multiple Choice Questions (1 mark each) – It will be based on the lessons mentioned in
the Half Yearly Assessment Syllabus.

Subjective Questions (Reference to context) – It will be based on the lessons mentioned


in the Half Yearly Assessment Syllabus and practised through the worksheets.

English Dictation – (25 marks)


1. Spelling List to be studied for the Half Yearly Assessment – 25 words from the list given
below will be called out by the teacher and the students will write it down on the answer
sheet provided by the school.
2. A short Unseen Passage made from the words in the Dictation list, will be dictated by
the teacher and the students will write it down on the answer
sheet provided by the school.

Reading Assessment – (30 marks)


Unseen passage: Short unseen passages made from the words in the Dictation list, will be
put up on the LCD Screen and the students will be asked to read.
Parameters for Reading: Correctness of words, confidence, tone of voice and intonation,
correct pauses, diction and pronunciation.

Handwriting Assessment – (20 marks)


There will be no separate assessment for writing. It is on a continuous basis. Writing is
assessed through the Dictation Paper for the exam.

Parameters for Handwriting: Spacing and neatness, formation of letters, correctness of


words, handwriting in the other class work notebooks.

Class Work-Note Book, Worksheets and Recap Book will be tested.

Mathematics Paper Pattern- Half Yearly Assessment, 2024


Mathematics (1 hour 30 minutes) – (80 marks)

Section A – (10 marks)


 This section has only 10 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Each question carries 1
mark each.
 All questions in this section are compulsory.
Section B – (70 marks)
 There will be 4 Word Problems of 4 marks each (16 marks).
 The remaining (54 marks) will be different types of sums based on the syllabus.
 All questions in this section are compulsory.
