INTRODUCTION

u JW Marriott is considered as the face of the


luxury hotel in the whole world.
u The first hotel was inaugurated in the year
1957 In arilington,virgina by J Willard
Marriott.
u Since then the hotel has grown and is
providing exceptional service and a
comfortable stay to its guest.
u The hotel has 7000+ properties across the
globe in around 131 countries
u Marriott oversees has over 30 brands and
recently combined with ritz Carlton, Westin,
etc.
ABOUT JW MARRIOTT PUNE
u The JW Marriott was opened in the year 2013 in the heart of Pune
u This property comprises of 414 rooms of different categories and also
provides other services like spa, swimming pool, gym, etc
u The hotel has various operating restaurant outlets like pasha, spice
kitchen, alto vino etc
u The hotel promises comfortable and luxurious stay to all their guest
and provides service according to their standards.
u This property is relatively a new property and is considered as a
luxury property by the guest.
u It is situated in the heart of Pune and located very close to the
railway station and airport

u There are six operating restaurant outlets in the property according
to their cuisines served.

2. Pasha:-
• Covers:- above 100
• Serves Indian cuisine with alcohol and alcohol based mocktails
• Operating time of the restaurant is:-
Lunch:- 12:30pm to 3:30pm
Dinner:- 6:00pm to 12:00pm

3. Tao-fu

• Covers:- 149

• Serves Chinese cuisine

• Operating time :-

Lunch:- 12:30pm to 3:30pm

Dinner:-6:30pm to 11:30pm

• 24 hours open restaurant

KITCHEN DEPARTMENT

u Kitchen comprises of various sub department:-


1. bakery 2. Garde manger 3. Butchery 4. commissary
5. kitchen
u There are four operating kitchen in the property:-
1. alto vino 3. Pasha
2. Spice kitchen 4. Tao-fu
u Bakery:- prepares all the cakes, pastry, savouries, breads etc
required in the hotel
u Garde manger:-
u Butchery:- responsible for storing and chopping all the meat items
u Commissary:- Responsible for all the mise required for all the
outlets in the hotel and also stores all the vegetables, fruits etc.
KITCHEN DEPARTMENT

u Alto vino:- serves authentic Italian cuisine. It prepares various pasta like
penne, spaghetti, risotto etc. They also prepare various Commissary
breads. Dishes made of ravioli are also prepared
u Spice kitchen:- has both Indian and continental cuisine, Indian cuisine
also has tandoor section where breads and tandoor starters are
prepared. Indian section prepares all the buffet dishes and ala carte
u The continental sections prepares all the ala carte and also prepares
buffet and live counter dishes as well.
u Pasha:- serves authentic Indian cuisine. They also serve Indian starters
as well as tandoor starters.
u Tao- fu:- is a newly opened outlet in the hotel. They have authentic
Chinese cuisine. They also have a section named Sabu Sabu for hot pot
section.
FRONT OFFICE

u The front office department has various other sub divison:-


1. Reservation
2. Concierge
3. Front desk
4. Back office
u The front office department is the first department that guest comes
in contact with.
DIVISIONS IN THE FRONT OFFICE
DEPARTMENT
u Concierge:- They are first ones to come in contact with the guest also
responsible for handling guest pick up and drop. They also take care of
the guest luggage during arrivals and departure.
u Reservation/front desk:-They are responsible for reservation of the guest
and preparing forms and formats required in the front office.
u Cashier:- This area takes care of the payments done by the guest to the
hotel.
u Reception area:- they help in establishing the room tariff and allocates
room to the guest
u Information desk:- they are responsible to delivery mails and messages
to the guest.
u Back office:- This area is responsible for storing and maintaining all the
important documentation of the department
HOUSEKEEPING

u The housekeeping department is responsible for cleaning the rooms according


to the standards
u There are various sub divisions in the housekeeping department:-
1. Room cleaning
2. Housekeeping desk
3. Laundry room
4. Uniform room
5. Flower room
6. Lost & found
7. Linen room

u The housekeeping department also looks after the guest laundry, guest request
etc.
DIVISION OF HOUSEKEEPING
DEPARTMENT
u Room cleaning:- The housekeeping staff is responsible for cleaning the
hotel rooms and completing the guest request.
u Housekeeping desk:-The forms and formats required are prepared. They
are also responsible for receiving the guest request. The occupancy
forecast is also done from the housekeeping desk
u Laundry room:-The soiled linen is washed here. The guest laundry is also
done. The staff uniform is also washed and pressed in the laundry room.
u Uniform room:- the fresh staff uniform is stored and distributed from the
uniform room. This is also connected with the tailor room, where the
tailoring work is done.
u Flower room:- the flowers that are required in the lobby area or in the
guest room for presentation is distributed from the flower room
u Lost and found:- This is to store all the lost or left items of the guest.
u Linen room:- The soiled and fresh linen are stored in this room.
CHEMICALS USED IN THE
HOUSEKEEPING DEPARTMENT
u The housekeeping department uses various chemicals according to
the area they are cleaning:-

u The rooms are installed with smart televisions,
minibars, bathtubs, etc.
OTHER AREAS IN THE
HOTEL
u There are various other areas in the hotel for the guest:-
1. Quan spa:- They provide spa,massage,beauty
treatment. Operating time is 9:00am to 11:00pm
2. Fitness area/Gym:- A gym is constructed for the guest in
the hotel with all the modern equipments. Operating
time is 6:00am to 11:00pm
3. Swimming pool:- The guest can access the swimming
pool of the hotel. Operating time is 6:00am to 10:00pm
4. The marriott club(executive lounge):- A lounge with 5
meeting rooms for vip and vvip guest serves
starters,alcohol, cocktails and mocktails to the guest.
Operating timing is 6:30am to 12:00am
CONCLUSION

u This industrial training was a memorable experience. I learnt most


from this training experience. I got to experience the heat of this
industry and met some of the best and knowledgeable staff who
helped me a lot in this four month tenure and have a quite
supportive attitude. I would like to thank the institute, Ms.
Devangana Verma Ma’am and the hotel to give me the
opportunity to showcase my ability and experience the industry at a
ground level.
