I. Objectives
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate understanding
of motion of objects.

B. Performance Standards The learners should be able to observe,

describe, and investigate the position
and movement of things around them.

C. Learning Objectives Knowledge: describe the position of a

person or an object in relation to a
reference point such as chair, door,
another person
Skills: infer that the motion of an object
is determined by forces acting on it
Affective: state that there are forces
acting on an object

2. What is your standard thing to identify It is important to use a pattern so that

the position of the eggplant? we will know if the object is moving or
not.
3. Is it important to use a pattern? Why?

C. Motivation
Each one of you will receive one piece of
bond paper. All we have to do is to make
a paper boat. Let us take a look on the
instruction from the board.

GOAL:
Describing the position of the paper
shape while it is moving.

MATERIALS:
Paper
Basin
Water

PROCEDURES:
1. Let us make a paper boat using the
bond paper I have given to you. Follow
the guidelines below.
2. Get a big basin. Put water on it then
let you paper boat floating on the water.

the position of the paper boat while you
shake the water with your hand.

D. Presentation
Questions: When the paper was moving I already
1. Did the paper boat change its know that its position change. The
position? pattern I follow was to shake the water

you follow?
The paper boat moving because of the
shaking of water with a hand.

3. What makes the paper boat moving? Not all things are move by the water.

4. Do all things move by the water?

E. Analysis/Discussion
The position of an object changes when
there is other forces applied to it. It is
influence that can cause an object to
change its velocity, I.e., to accelerate,
meaning a change in speed or direction,
unless counterbalanced by other forces.
It is also the ability to do work.

Just like the paper boat, it cannot move

when there was no shaking of water with
hand.

F. Abstraction/Generalization
The position of an object or person is
identified by a pattern of the object. It is
important to use a standard object to
identify the position of an object.
G. Application
