TEXT: All new NSC radar installation past the 01.07.2008 have to be in accor-
dance with the new performance standards depicted in IEC 62388.

Part of that standard is the prohibition of transmission when the antenna is


not rotating.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. On the radar controller PCB, U22 storing the operating system of
the controller needs to be replaced (MK2 Pedestal and MTR).

All Controllers G624194- 3 need to be upgraded to G624194- 4 with


this new EEPROM U22. The former version -1,-2 will not be up-
graded and can still be used for older installations.

2. When the new U22 is installed label the PCB with two stickers:

3. Another Label needs to be attached to the Pedestal or MTR:

5. New radar software version for display units E02.xx:

In accordance to the new performance standards a new softwareversion for


the radar processor will be released shortly.

The following radar processors need to be updated:

- A 3300 M (- 6, -7) radar, chart radar and


- A 320M- 6 chart radar,
from version E01.27 to E02.xx.
- Hardware versions 900- 018.NGxxx will not be effected.

Additional features of this software are:

- the correlation of AIS and ARPA tracks,


- the magnetron send time can be reset,
- CFAR functionality,
- improved configuration data storage and a new arrangement of the op-
erator soft buttons.

Please refer to the new radar manual for further details.
